Live Mock Draft ***CONTINUED*** - Round 3 (1 Viewer)

had to work for a while...

thoughts...

liked watkins pick for rams (third OT was another "need" i left out)... i like the idea of a 6'5" athletic center fielder in he wild & wooly NFC west (merton hanks on crack?)...

great info on edwards, CC... you are exactly right, i saw something about seeming issues with coach, which now sounds like a one-sided slant, & i didn't investigate further... thanx for the clarification...

another reason i like stovall... he had the benefit of pro coaching for year from weiss...

like the babatunde pick... because i think there used to be a cool african drummer with that handle (drums of passion?)... & more to the point, SF should have been able to scout him as they are in neighborhood (stanford)... some scouts are higher on him than others (coyle has him in top 5 DTs i think?)... the few highlights i saw, he looked pretty quick & athletic in close quarters, though he probably won't be mistaken for rod coleman any time soon... they just need some bodies...

he may well be best pure NT type after ngata & watson...

you going for all seven rounds, andy... by this evening... :)

Screw it. Boom or bust pick here. I'll drink the Kool Aid. :banned:

3.31 - Minnesota - Brandon Marshall, WR, Central Florida

Marshall. Reminds me a lot of T-Will. But thats fine. I need to go soon and Pittsburgh is on the clock. Where's EG?

Like TWill? He's bigger, stronger, but not as fast.Seems to me he'd take Marcus Robinson's spot. I think he'll make a good #3, with more potential than just that.

Jets on the clock. They already have: Mario Williams, Nick Mangold, Marcus McNeil, Stanley McClover (OLB).

How about Brodie Croyle?

I can live with Jacobs. But I think Croyle is the real deal. he's slight, but that can be fixed. Omar is at least a year away. Croyle is actually one of the most NFL ready guys coming out.

I gotta run as well. My vote is Croyle. The Alabama connection with Broadway Joe continues on. Both guys were legends in Tuscalosa.

Demetrius Williams is on the board still
I'm thinking we screwed that up. 2nd rounder more than likely, first day definitely.
I agree. Maybe I've been staring at these stats too long but this seems like an extremely deep draft. There were a few wild picks in there, but for the most part I ageed or at least understood the picks and there seems to be at least 10-12 guys who I thought were 1st day that we missed.D Williams WR

Havner OLB

Cofield DT

Gocong DE

to name a few

Good lord, no! We're done after 3.
We left Jonathan Lewis out of the first day too. This is a very deep draft. A surprise or two in the first round, a handful in the next two and the fourth round is going to be loaded. There are plenty of surprises coming if stuff I'm reading is accurate.

See I could name another five or six and not agree with the three you list under Williams. Havner will probably go first day. We just don't like him much around here. lolI think Gocong was small college hype. A nice player and a dedicated worker. A good story, but probably second day. Cofield is interesting, but I like Mahelona better. Deep draft.

Just a question to the draftniks on Jacksonville. I see three rounds here of not addressing the backfield. I know they have used picks on Toefiled, Greg Jones and Pearman but I'm not convinced that either is even close to being able to replace Taylor. What say ye...

Greg Jones was a second rounder a couple of years back. He showed good ability last year when Taylor was out. Pearman is a decent 3rd down back. Toefield is Toefield. A general, all purpose guy who does nothing great but nothing terrible either. There are much worse backfields in the NFL.
