Major upgrade over Schneider whom I think is really overrated.....LoDuca's best years are obviously behind him...but given a choice between the two, I definitely go LoDuca.
Lo Duca is as overrated as they come at the catcher position, in no small part because he's played in LA and NY. Aside from his 2001 season, he hasn't been that great with the bat. He's still an upgrade offensively over Schneider but who isn't. Lo Duca isn't as good with the glove though.
LoDuca may not be the everyday catcher anyway. The Nats have a Rule 5 guy named Jesus Flores who backed up Schneider last season and has shown some flashes of offensive brilliance. If he shows anything in spring training, he could be the starter with LoDuca backing him up.

Hey, Kasten promised to raise the payroll and he's certainly keeping up his end of the bargin.BTW, both Milledge and LoDuca were in town yesterday being introduced and said all the right things about wanting to be a Nat and make them a contender. However, there was no sign of Elijah Dukes. He's probably not going to meet the press until at least February in Viera.
Nats - enjoy him. The guy really is a scumbag. Not a bad ballplayer, but not an especially good one either. Ok offense that is on the decline, and pretty poor defense. He is "gritty" but that is really just a side effect of his general scumbaggedness and douchebaggary.
