London Fletcher (1 Viewer)

I'm curious to hear everyone's opinion on London Fletcher...

He started off the season with an unbelievable game against the Giants, which was a great matchup....my league does 2 pt solo, 1 pt assist, 4 sack, fumble rec, ff, int

Over the past 4 weeks, his stats are:

Week 5 - CAR - 3 solo, 4 assists

Week 6 - KAN - 2 solo, 4 assists

Week 7 - PHI - 5 solo, 1 assist

Week 9 - ATL - 3 solo, 1 assist

It just seems like he has lost a step and can't be relied on as much to put up numbers or has the system in washington shifted the tackles elsewhere? I am keeping my faith in him because washington is so bad that i figured he would put up tackles in garbage time.......should I use him as trade bait?

Thanks.

Fletcher and the Redskins have faced the fifth fewest rushing attempts in the league this season, and a well below average 24, 20 and 19 in the three games prior to this week. They faced a league average twenty seven against the Falcons yesterday, but only seven of those were by Matt Ryan and the wide receivers.

Prior to this week's games, Fletcher was making 13.2% of his team's solo tackles, tenth most among all linebackers, and a higher number than Stephen Cooper, Lance Briggs, Larry Foote, Karlos Dansby, David Harris and James Laurinaitis.

Though his opportunity in recent games against some pretty solid matchups (CAR, PHI and ATL) has been disappointing, Fletcher's rest-of-the-year schedule includes only one clearly poor matchup (OAK). His W15 and W16 matchups (NYG and DAL) look to be above-average.

I think Fletcher rebounds in coming games. If you can get what you feel to be a more stable LB2 option, I wouldn't discourage you. However, shipping Fletcher for another player with question marks may not be the way to go given the numbers above.

Thanks for clearing that up Jene. I was unable to watch this game and was going to start a thread on the very same topic. I also have a question regarding Ray Lewis. I know he is 4th in the NFL in solo tackles and 5th-6th in total tackles but I have noticed the last 2 weeks that he has not been getting credit on tackles that are CLEARLY his. There were at least 5 times in yesterday's game where he was the player directly involved in taking down the ball carrier, yet wouldn't even get an assist on the play. None of the plays were "jumping on the pile" plays that every player in the league does at the end of the play. It is very frustrating when you are in a close game and need every possible point. This also happened the week before against the Broncos. It has happened throughout the season with him but especially the last 2 weeks. I just wanted to know if you have noticed this or have any information and/or an opinion on it? Thanks Jene.

In the preseason I predicted that London Fletcher would lead the league in tackles. With the addition of Albert Haynesworth and the Redskins likely being a poor team I guessed he would continue to be very, very productive...even at 34.

He's looked his age of late. Hopefully Fletcher rebounds like you're projecting. Interesting post Jene.

So Albert Haynesworth misses the game and London Fletcher plays like he's 25 again? :lmao:

Only an injury to another linebacker kept him in my starting line-up for yesterday's huge game.

Any guesses on what to expect from the veteran middle linebacker moving forward? I'm shuked.

I still don't see much wrong with Fletcher. I was disappointed last week -- he finally had a little better than average opportunity and was out-tackled by most of his teammates -- but that was really the first sign that something more than opportunity may have been a problem. I didn't agree with Bloom's comments on the podcast that he looked a step slow. He's not the Fletcher of three seasons ago, but he's still good enough to beat his current competition to the ball.Yesterday's 48 tackle opportunities still weren't above average, but the 34 rush attempts and ten completions to backs and tight ends were well above-average.I continue to believe that he's a strong LB2 when the matchup suggests average to above-average opportunity.

Curious if anyone thinks Blades replaces him if he is indeed finished.

He's not getting much action if he is supposed to be the MLB of the future
