Looking Ahead (2 Viewers)

Hi everybody,

Hope you're winning (or won) this week.

I'm in a keeper league, and we do an auction. I'm looking to pick up a couple of players off the waiver wire now who might have a solid chance of contributing and being a cheap keeper for next year. If you had to grab someone like that right now, who would it be?

Thanks in advance. Good luck in your game...

Matt

Before we get into the incessant "I can't believe player X is on your waiver wire. Can I play in your league?" posts, this question is entirely dependent on the number of teams and roster size in a given league.

this is a very league-specific question imo

"big name" free agents (frank gore, ben rothburger, dallas clark) in our league are there because they don't have much keeper value (keeper value is dependent on where they were drafted). For example I picked up Finley this past week because next year I could keep him in exchange for my 8th round pick.

I think what you're looking for is this year's Arian Foster. Dude last year snagged Foster late in the season and got to keep him this year in exchange for his 10th round pick or some ####.

how about...

John Skelton (Raw skills, but he is a real gunslinger)

Kevin Kolb (Could he be playing elsewhere?)

Charlie Whitehurst (Is Hasselbeck done?)

Montario Hardesty (Hillis is the unquestioned starter, but I still like Hardesty. The same could be said about Tate at Hou.)

Reggie Bush (It will be interesting to see what happens in NO. If Pierre Thomas exits, will Ivory and Bush carry the load?)

Bernard Scott (Perhaps he will get a shot?)

Michael Bush (If he leaves Oakland, he could wind up a starter)

Kareem Huggins (Had he not gotten injured, perhaps he and not Blount would be the lead back in TB)

Denario Alexander (Talented, but can he ever stay healthy?)

Jacoby Jones (He has the skills to be an elite wideout)

Robert Meachem (Keeps showing us glimpses)

Deon Butler (Should step back into a starter role opposite Mike Williams)

Jimmy Graham (He could be an elite receiving TE)

Jared Cook (Will he finally emerge?)
