Looks like he's starting, will he be on a snap count? (1 Viewer)

I know nothing about hernias other than the whole turn your head and cough thing. Will Reid take it slow with him and try to work him back in or will he see the field a lot? Does anyone have any intel?

Don't have any inside dope on how much he'll be used, but I would temper enthusiasm. May need to knock some rust off before he qualifies as a bona-fide must-start.

No question he will be -- just wouldn't expect a huge performance this weekend.

I don't know if this is a comparable situation, but Colston came back last week and had absolutely no impact and was held without a catch first game back.

I wouldn't expect much from Curtis first game back.

Thanks for your responses. I'm not expecting anything from him. I'm not asking should I start him. I'm just curious how often he will see the field.

I had a sports hernia repair back in 2006 June. It took me a long time to get back to normal activity, but I'm not a professional athlete, all injuries are the same, and I didn't have the rehab facilities that he has available.

All I know is that even a year after my surgery I still had trouble with twisting motions (starting the lawn mower). Sucked. Even today I feel it every now and then.

However, I was able to run pretty quickly afterwards. I would say he should see the field and I think he'll be a big factor. Colston was rushed back in my opinion so that's why he wasn't involved much. I could see Curtis getting 5 catches for 60 yards

Most likely he'll be the starter but will be rusty..waiting another week before I play him (Seattle great game in week 9 for him why risk a lot in week8).

Not comparable situations. Colston was coming back considerably earlier than expected, with a thumb injury and if I recall, had a splint or something on the thumb to boot. That is going to really hurt production when your job is to catch passes. Now, Curtis' injury was far "worse" from an overall body perspective, but if he is truly healted enough to play then you don't have a situation of being physically that limited on the field. If he has most if not all of his quickness and agility back, he can catch.
