perhaps something like rate of interception per 100 attempts per average completion yardage would be more interesting. of course, if you always dump off at the line of scrimmage you're less likely to get intercepted as opposed to throwing it 20 yards into coverage. huard had lots of check passes to pad those stats.

I calculated INT rate divided by Yards per completion, to lower the rates of QBs that had high YPC numbers (and thus were more likely to have thrown deeper passes). Huard still ranks number 1 on the list. His 12.7 yards per completion rate last year was well above the 2006 league average. Huard ranked 3rd in yards per completion of the 33 QBs to throw 200 passes, behind only McNabb and Tony Romo. Huard ranked lower (6th) in yards per attempt. It certainly doesn't seem like he was throwing lots of safe passes, based on that data.

Wow! Bulger ahead of Manning ONCE AGAIN (ESPN emphasized his completion percentage and yards per completion also, if I remember right), yet everyone wants to talk about B. Croyles back-up! Funny.

Huge Bulger Fan! A Class Act and STUD QB that was just rewarded for a career of working his hiney off, imho.

I've never been more confident of my long held opinion that Jeff George is a better quarterback than Peyton Manning.

I'm still floored that Huard will not be the starter for the Chiefs this year. I think the Chiefs are sending mixed signals to the players (especially the vets) by starting Croyle over Huard...age and/or draft slotting >>> actual performance on the field. If you sprinkle in the fact that actual performance on the field is not rewarded (ala LJ), the Chiefs are developing a dangerous reputation that could haunt their UFA and drafting efforts in the future. Look at Bowe...he's expected to be a starter and he just finally signed with merely 4 weeks left in camp. Plus, "hometown" discounts on future long-term deals (ala Gonzo) will also become a distant memory.

Chiefs '06 offseason ---

Top three seasons, sorted by interception rate, by a Colts QB? Not Manning, Unitas, Jones, but Harbaugh-George-Harbaugh.
