BB will gamplan around LT2. His M.O is to take away the other teams biggest weapon, plain and simple. If Rivers can beat them through the air... so be it. But he's not going to let Tomlinson beat them (by scheme). Harrison will basically live in the box.Thanks. It looked like Rivers might have been able to come back in the game, but didn't.I'm wondering if all these injuries, or the uncertainty of the injuries will actually benefit SD a little. BB is a great game planner but if he's not sure who's actually play he might need to come up with multiple game plans, preventing him going as deep as he'd probably like.
Which were?I think LT is soft. His post game comments really dissappointed me.
Rivers having MRI this morning. Unless it is season ending, you wont hear much.As for getting any conformations on any of the players, I wouldnt expect it. They will all be listed as questionable all week, and nobody will know what is going on. Obviously Im not the coach, and am guessing, but that is what Turner did with Gates last week, and playing against the Pats, I cant imagince Turner will show any of his injury cards this week.Has any one heard any early word on the injuries of Rivers, LT and how Gates held up after the game?
He could have went back in the game if he had to (if they lost momentum), but he was thinking ahead to next week vs. NE. I don't remember the exact quote... but it was something along those lines.Which were?I think LT is soft. His post game comments really dissappointed me.
He did make that quote, Russ is right about that. I still dont think it makes him soft though. He could have went back in the game if he had to (if they lost momentum), but he was thinking ahead to next week vs. NE. Calm down man... I have no reason to make it up (that's just silly). I seen it on NFL Network; heard it with my own ears. I dont have any reason to hate on LT2. If you need the link... here it is (to your own hometown paper)...Gold Plated Nails said:post a link or stop making things up. Rivers said he felt that he could go in.
I would argue that SD's passing attack, even with Volek in for Rivers, is more of a threat than Jacksonville's passing attack, even if Garrard >> Rivers/Volek, and therefore that NE cannot afford to exclusively sell out to stop the run to the extent they could in the JAX game.BB will gamplan around LT2. I agree. Last season they may have keyed more on LT2 but this year they have to respect their passing game more. I cursed the day that Miami traded Chambers to them. That was a nice pickup for SD.I would argue that SD's passing attack, even with Volek in for Rivers, is more of a threat than Jacksonville's passing attack, even if Garrard >> Rivers/Volek, and therefore that NE cannot afford to exclusively sell out to stop the run to the extent they could in the JAX game.BB will gamplan around LT2. I would disagree with that a lot. NE was getting pressure on Garrard Saturday night with their 3 down line man. Garrard is just so big and slippery, that he wouldn’t go down on first contact. There were times when two or three NE defenders appeared to have him, and he managed to shake away from them and make plays. Rivers won’t be able to do that imo. David Garrard is a MUCH better QB than I originally thought. He is cool as a fan under pressure. Rivers is the type of QB, who can be rattled. His emotional play is great for SD so long as they are winning... but it works both ways. A couple of mistakes and he could melt down out there. I think NE's secondary will contain Rivers much easier than they did Garrard, with similar packages; the difference being the effectiveness of their Pass rush.I would argue that SD's passing attack, even with Volek in for Rivers, is more of a threat than Jacksonville's passing attack, even if Garrard >> Rivers/Volek, and therefore that NE cannot afford to exclusively sell out to stop the run to the extent they could in the JAX game.
I actually think Turner vs. NE is a better matchup for the Chargers... I know, blasphemyEverything hinges on the MRI. They had Turner to finish the game yesterday so even though LT looked fine they were concerned enough with what they couldn't see to hold him out. Obviously one of the benefits of having someone like Turner
