Lucky to be alive... (1 Viewer)

Hope you're ok. Definitely get the best lawyer in town because those hidden injuries can last forever. Wishing you well. Thanks for sharing.

The fact you were able to walk away, is a testament to modern car's ability to absorb a ton of impact and keep the driver safe.  Absolutely amazing you were able to survive that.  Glad to hear it!

I'm not a lawyer, but I wouldn't answer questions about injuries on a message board...I'm sure their insurance's lawyer would be happy to find postings underplaying injuries/damage etc.

Glad you're ok. Several years ago I was in such an accident. Stuck at the bottom of the ramp off the freeway at a light and saw the whole thing play out in my rear view mirror with a semi coming right at us. I told my husband we're toast. I can still hear the sound of screeching brakes. My VW Rabitt backside was crushed in. Luckily no one in back. Didn't think we were injured, until some time later when the back, knees and neck started giving trouble.

Why don't you throw a few noods up on that link. thx
Give the guy a break, huh? He was just in a terrible accident, has untold injuries and is surely bruised and sore. And you want him to take nudes and post them for your enjoyment? NTTAWWT. Seems selfish of you.

I was in a similar situation but slower speeds of about 35 mph.  I saw in my rear view mirror a car approaching fast and not preparing to stop so I quickly moved to the passing lane.  The car locked up its brakes and stopped in the space where I would have been and missed hitting the car in front of him.
I learned to drive in Anchorage - I tend to keep one eye on the mirror whenever I'm at a stoplight in case someone can't stop on ice (the habit stays through summer).  I also leave a relatively large gap between me and the car in front of me so I have a chance of pulling into the next lane if required.  I happily gunned it into a snow bank once to avoid someone on sheet ice who would have hit me pretty hard - snow's soft.

Still, there are middle lanes, times when traffic is moving in the lanes next to you but not yours, stops with concrete walls rather than shoulders... not much you can do sometimes.
