I ran a similar poll before this week's games which finished about

37% lundy

45% Gado

5% Dayne

12% Other (not yet on the team)

seems like many people thought that Dom Davis should be added as a choice. Plus after this last week, Lundy seems to be a much less popular choice. It's maybe worth a new poll

The one thing that I haven't heard many talk about, but notice is that everytime Kubiak talks about LUndy is always positive. He mentioned that Lundy was in a tuff environment after his fumble and thus the reason less carries. I think he really like the kid, which he say so in his drafting, and wants to make sure it's not all on his shoulders yet or until he's ready. I do find it odd that it's always positive, but I think he's the coaches choice. Also, he's the best blocker out of the group.

I have Gado in my dynasty league,

and I was offered Lundy for Jerome Harrison.

Lundy is confusing, I liked him at Virginia,

and I should match him up with Gado,

but I'm not sure if he is the long term solution.

Lundy [ 11 ] [15.28%]

Dayne [ 5 ] [6.94%]

Gado [ 36 ] [50.00%]

Dom Davis [ 4 ] [5.56%]

Other (not yet on the team) [ 16 ] [22.22%]

one item that no one is talking about

one of the big reasons GADO is there ...

MIKE SHERMAN is there and he gave KUBIAK the " get this kid "

i have this feeling Gado will end up being the guy

I agree that Mike Sherman wants Gado to be the guy and he was the one who persuaded Kubiak to go after him but I do NOT agree that nobody is talking about that.. if you are a regular reader of this board you will know that this has been discussed in detail... :)

this has probably been posted in another Houston RB thread, but this quote from Kubiak sounds good for Gado taking over:

“I think we’ll continue to play all three. We’ll keep preparing all three. I think one of them will stand ahead of the others, that’s just the way it tends to work out. I thought Wali (Lundy) did some good things, he did put the ball on the ground playing in a tough environment. It’s a new step for him. Ronnie (Ron Dayne) did some good things, got a little tired, hasn’t played in a while. Sam (Samkon Gado) came in and showed he’s got some flash and has some big play ability.”
just for fun, I googled Kubiak and "did some good things" to see how Kubiak uses that phrase, since he applied it to both Dayne and Lundy--it's pretty much always followed by a criticism of the player. Darius Watts did some good things, too.

Hang on to Jerome Harrison. He is a future impact player imo and will get plenty of PT this year. He reminds me a lot of when Tiki came into the league. Lundy is a career back-up going forward. I felt Lundy could be a decent RB3 this year but not much else going forward because the Texans in light of the Davis/Bush fiasco will draft a top RB in next years draft where I expect them to have a top 3 pick.

I say Gado gets a ton of work this weekend. 15 carries at least if they are in the game. Maybe more. Gado does have the best upside for this year. Dayne is total crap. Lundy is just not getting it done through 2 weeks. He as looked overwhelmed imo.

From rotoworld

Ron Dayne-RB-Texans Sep. 20 - 7:43 pm et

Texans coach Gary Kubiak says his starting running back in Week 3 will be either "Wali or Ronnie, one of those two."

Wali Lundy started the first two games, but Kubiak is hoping the rookie can help out on special teams. Ronnie Dayne ended up with most of the carries in Week 2. Samkon Gado may be starting by mid-season.

(on RB Samkon Gado) “I feel good. I liked what I saw last week. I liked practice today. His and (RB) Ronnie (Dayne)’s play will pick up with our football team every week as we go. It should be a good combination, and I think it helps (RB) Wali (Lundy) too. Because I think there is a lot of pressure on Wali going into those first two weeks. I think he can get some help from those two guys and help us on special teams more. So expect the two new guys to pickup the tempo.”

Hey guys......an owner in my league just dropped DeAngelo Williams. I would have to drop Gado to snag Williams. Do you think Williams' value will be worth more than Gado's for the year - if Gado wins the starting job in Texas? Should I just drop Gado and grab Williams?

This isn't the ACF, GB.As far as the topic, I'd say it's Gado. I don't see Lundy contributing much, Davis very well might be done, and Dayne sucks. Period.

Sorry.......maybe this was the WRONG forum........but simce my question dealt directly with Gado's value as the "starter" - I thought it would be alright to ask if his value would be higher than DeAngelo Williams for the year.

I think gado is going to be the starter much sooner than williams, like week 5. I'm only worried about the two recent offensive line losses for houston. Their line sucked before the left tackle and center were hurt so how are they going to be now?

You were doing alright till you went down this path: "Should I just drop Gado and grab Williams?"That said, we're not all as perfect as Keys and we'll forgive you. I rate Williams far higher than I do Gado, regardless of status. Whether he remains in a RBBC or takes Foster's job, Williams is a Foster injury away (thus far an annual event) from an opportunity to be superb.

Oh yes, back to task: RBBC in HOU; Gado slight leader of the pack (no pun intended). I think all three are lousy.

Thanks for being "understanding"..........and for the insight, it is appreciated. I've played fantasy football for years, but this is my first year navigating around football forums and discussions. I agree Gado will be the starter by week 5........and Williams is probably the better value.

Welcome. As you can see, we're petty (about that, it's for a good reason), but we're generally a good group of people.Hope you stick around.
