Mad Men on AMC (2 Viewers)

That Betty storyline was pretty useless.
A little early to say, isn't it? The hair is a dramatic change for her. And I liked the seen with her and the friend in the kitchen. Dying her hair, hanging in a sqatter house in the city, a reckless driving ticket...Betty's busting loose.
They introduced a new character without much backstory just so she could go chill with hippies. Maybe I just find her uninteresting.

The scenes with the hippies were ridiculous. As was the "Want me to hold her down while you rape her" line.

Maybe it's because my grandmother was Massachusetts Irish Catholic frigid, not unlike Betty, that I see the relevance of her character and her mixing and digesting the social and cultural changes that were happening at the time. She might be boring to some, but she's a useful and relevant character.

yeah, wtf was that? Bizarre.

Did anyone notice that the new brown-noser that gave Don the coffee in the elevator gave the other coffee to Pete when he finshed his photoshoot?

First episodes of the season always are tough for me to follow or seem uneven. I will have to read that review later today.

I guess Betty didn't like being called blondie. The Francis household is a wacky place.

Can't believe Don is swinging out with the girl from Grandmas Boy and FreaksNGeeks.

I don't buy the Draper vomiting bit.

Sterling and Peggy were pretty great.

I also enjoy Stan.

Who did that?
The hippie that bought the violin.
Ahhh. Like she would change her hair based on what that bum thinks.
I would say that it is a little deeper than that.
Maybe. She looks a million times better as a blonde, BTW.
"you're ugly" :runsoffandhides:

I thought Henry was going to say you look like my mom.

Seems to me that they should have diverted the funds to Walking Dead instead of this hunk of ####. Way too many stupid storylines and the plot seemed clunky.

I don't think Betty is unhappy. I think she is jealous of sandy taking a leap to leave te mundane. It bothers her that her own daughter seems to accept her own stepford existence while her friend basically decided to run away. I think Betty isn't on the verge of more depression but rather in the verge of breaking out.

Exactly. That's the least bitter and closest to something resembling decent that I can remember seeing her in awhile.

I feel like Sally is going to have a really important role in the next two years. She's too good of an actress to continue just sitting on the sidelines.

Glad to see Peggy back and kicking ###. I remember some thought her storyline would and, maybe, should start to wrap up with the move.It looks like she'll still be a central figure. She's such a great actress and her journey is one of (2nd, imo) the most interesting and important on the show.

I wonder how much fun the costume crew has picking out new hideous sweaters for Betty's husband to wear.

I think shes going to break bad. 2-1 says she pokes smnot before the season is over.

I think Don was thinking about death, so he got too drunk and vomited. He had just lost what's her name, blonde with 1 leg from California, plus he probably figured the Army guy he met on vacation would be dead soon too. With Roger's mother passing, it just brought all those emotions back, he got drunk, and puked.

Her getting vulgar with Henry, the odd rape line, was her acting out. She was getting off hanging out with the hippies. She didn't really care about the girl why she left the violin.
