Mad Men on AMC (1 Viewer)

Not a fan of Peggy settling for Stan. Not believable, and poorly executed.

My girl, who loves the show too, said, "Nooooooooooo! I hate you, Matt Weiner!"

I loved everything but Don. It was like the goal was to tear apart the entire character and mystique of Draper.
That's pretty much what I thought of it as well... everyone else got a nice little bow on their stories. Don's entire story arc for the second half of this season was a train wreck and anyone that thought otherwise was delusional.

On the whole, I liked the episode okay. The Don stuff was just really horrid all the way around.

I hated The Sopranos ending when I first saw it. Over time I came to appreciate it more.

I don't have anything close to that feeling about this finale. It wasn't perfect by any stretch but I didn't think it was an epic fail.

For what it's worth, Hamm or Weiner (maybe it was both) said Weiner had the final image of the series in his head all along. Whether that was Don on a mountain top meditating or the Coke jingle (or both) is the question.

I thought all of the other stories were done very well. I can't find any major faults with them.

I need to digest Don's a little more.
Agree. I loved everything but Don, but I am convinced he made the Coke commercial which makes me really like it.
If the whole point of that final scene wasn't that Don created the Coke jingle than it will fall way short for me. That was the redeeming aspect of his storyline tonight in my opinion.
We will never know for sure, but what else could it be? I agree that the final episode hinges on that.
I'm stunned this is even a question.

Did Don create the Coke jingle is going to be the new Is Tony dead? Like I said before I hope Weiner doesn't d**k people around the way Chase did for so many years and just come right out and say if that's what he intended or not.

No idea what this guy is saying.
It was basically in reply to someone. Skim his timeline. Pretty sharp dude.

It's the only thing that makes sense. However, it is not clear. He was working on Miller Lite, not Coke. It would have made much more sense if he walked out of a Coke meeting.

I do think there's something to be said for Don leaving advertising behind for good. But if we're supposed to believe he had an epiphany of some sort thanks to Leonard it's entirely possible "the new you" (new identities have been a central theme with Don all along) is a Don who can return to McCann more self-assured and honest about who he really is and what he can do than ever before. And that is the person who could produce arguably the greatest TV jingle of all time.

My wife makes me watch it and while I think it has had a few good moments, and the whole history/atmosphere thing is fine, it goes down as the most overrated series in TV history IMO.

I'm not completely sure how I feel about the finale yet, but I find it hilarious that a show that centers on studying someone who's been a disaster over a decade of the show and people are upset that things didn't wrap up tidily.

I thought things wrapped up pretty well.

RN, these jerkoffs.
