Make 3 random predictions for the 08 Season here (1 Viewer)

Royals fan here....3 Team predictions-Royals go 81-81, finishing ahead of the 'Sox and right behind the Twins.-A's, Giants and Orioles all lose 100.-Boston does not win the East...and neither do the Yanks -- try the B'Jays.3 Individual predictions-Billy Butler and Alex Gordon each hit 20 HR, with Butler close to 30.-Pedro has a great comeback, winning 13 games and pitches Mets to the postseason.-Yunel Escobar hits .325, and just misses the NL Batting crown.
What are your thoughts on DeJesus this year? Will he ever live up to his billing? Also, will Teahan live up to his potential? Would like to hear a homer's perspective on these guys.

Dejesus is 28.....at that age, you are what you are. Dejesus is a good .290-ish hitter with above average defense with little power and not much of a penchant for stealing bases. To me, that screams 4th OFer, but there are worse starters. If Gathright continues to get on base and steal bases, he HAS to be given the starting job. DDJ is signed for 4 more season at a very reasonable price, so he could be sought in a trade. As for Teahen, this is the season where we find out who the real Mark Teahen is. Is he the guys from 2006 who had one hell of a 4-month stretch? Or is he the slap hitter from 2007? Basically does he become a Michael Cuddyer, or does he regress to Sean Burroughs territory? To me, Greinke and Teahen are the two guys who will determine what KC does. I think improvement from Butler, Gordon, Bannister, etc is a given.

AL

Burnett and Halladay stay healthy and the Toronto Blue Jays make the playoffs (.5 point. They stayed healthy, pitched good and great respectively. Offense blew for most of the season, kept them from making a run at the post season)

Zack Greinke wins 15 games (giving myself a .5 point since wins (12) are so hard to predict. Greinke was great for a good portion of the season and easily lost / didn't get a decision in a lot of games he pitched quality starts in. 15 wins on a real team would have been easy pickings with a 3.50 ERA, a WHIP under 1.30 and a 3/1 K/bb ratio. Plus he still has 2 starts to get closer to that 15 than he is now.)

Baltimore loses 106 games. (0. Team over performed the first half of the year. Probably beyond anyone's wildest expectations)

NL

Despite the incompetence of Dusty Baker, the Reds finish over .500 (0 points oof. Who'd think Harang would suck that bad?)

Arizona wins the NL (0 points Looked good until mid August)

Furcal rebounds from a rough '07 to be a top 5 SS again in '08 (0 points Looked well on his way to being #1 SS until the back went out in May.)

1. Jim Leyland violates league rules when he is caught up in an illegal NASCAR gambling ring. Tigers miss the playoffs by 1.5 games.

2. Mid 70's Joe Torre sex video surfaces involving a midget  The distraction is LA is too much. Dodgers fail to make the playoffs and Torre ponders retirement.

3. Ryan Howard hits a bunch of homers.
:coffee:
