Malcom in the Middle is better than Breaking Bad (1 Viewer)

Apparently there are a lot of people here that have never watched MitM. Brian Cranston was SO much better in that role.
some of his best work

dance dance revolution, the robot wars/lazer bee cannon, roller skating lessons, amazing character.
Remember when he caught the world class walk-runner (whatever you call that nonsense) was actually hopping every third step?

The guy just brings the goods...I watch those replays now and can't help but say, "Wow...that's Heisenberg"...especially when he's crying out loud so uncontrollably or doing physical comedy like the rollerskates or dance dance...

Good call. Power walking was a truly brilliant episode.

I loved Hal playing cards with Stevie's dad's buddies too.

A lot of folks in this thread don't know comedic genius when they see it.

The poker game was awesome...just reminded me of when he was in that singing group with those guys...and Dewey caused them all to break up just before their number...Hal ended up going up and doing his part by himself...brings tears to my eyes laughing...

He was brilliant because he's a brilliant character actor. Hal is Walt, Walt is Hal. Tweaks here and there, but the brilliance is in the absolute flawless, 100% believable execution.

"Reese, do you know what empathy is?...Empathy is putting yourself in other people's shoes so you can feel what they do. If you hurt someone, empathy makes you hurt as well."

"Then why would you want empathy?"

Plus, MitM gave us closure in a way the half-assed finale of BB simply shied away from. Malcolm is on his way to becoming president, Dewey has the household shenanigans well in hand, and Lois, ever the prolific breeder, is getting ready to squeeze out her twenty fifth child. It's like Dickens come to life on screen.

BB went a little formulaic by the end. "Oh no, Walt's meth empire isn't going to work out perfectly for him...again!" Probably best that they pulled the plug when they did.

I just re-watched every episode of MITM. It's even better than I remembered.
The Season 1 finale is one of the greatest episodes of TV comedy ever. Malcolm and Reese have a prank war all over the water park, Hal sneaks booze in a suntan lotion bottle and gets smashed, Dewey is left home with Bea Arthur as the babysitter, Francis and the Commandant have an epic 8-ball battle. It's amazing how much story they could fit into one episode.

Still finishing up the series, and just watched the Season 6 episode, "Pearl Harbor" where Hayden Panatierre convinces Malcolm and Reece that the other is gay.

That was a truly exquisite half hour of comedy.

It wasn't just Bryan Cranston's career that peaked on MitM, Hayden's did too (not that it needed to be said). Great work by her in this episode.

Didn't watch the show during it's run. Watching it now with my nephews, 5 and 10. Hard to think of another show that we all equally enjoy.

The AA episode is so freaking funny too.

Oh he rarely drinks.

Then how are you an alcoholic?

I have all the signs so I must be an alcoholic. You have the signs as well, you're an alcoholic.

The only time I drink is on my birthday and I might have one glass of champagne!!!!

Every birthday?

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Also a favorite... when Dewey gets the chickenpox and passes the time at home by building a dominoes train all over the house. Cranston is hilarious as Hal trying to resist the urge to put the train in motion, "So... many... dominoes..."

The speed bump he built in the street to stop that car from squealing it's tires all the time was another favorite of mine.

I've had the marathon on today for most of the day

So funny
