Management People question in Retail: If you have an employee who won't work weekends and not a great worker how long till you fire/get rid of them? (1 Viewer)

Criminal attorney to the drug kingpins of the southwest.
I'm legit asking.

Are we talking fast food restaurant level people, or does a company like Verizon actually have a path from retail guy in a strip mall to a corporate role?

What is the career path of a cell phone retail store employee.
Not far I had a co worker who worked for Verizon Wireless who got out and a better job. My buddy is one of those who went to school for Sports management but went first for meterology. He was a terrible C student one of those who was spoiled as a kid. His parents always told him yes. His issue is he wanted to go into a field you need to know people and social network and he's not great with either. Definitely thinks he should have a better job then he does. However the dude never worked hard enough to go anywhere. I don't feel bad for the guy either as a lot of it is his fault for pure laziness. He's just been lucky with the jobs he's had in retail and schedule wise. He was working for the defunct Camden RIversharks and his one co worker supervisor was trying to help him but he literally blew that and never kept in contact with him. He's stubborn but he's also too nice and will let people walk over him

I think in a job like Verizon you need to know people. Like a lot of retail jobs you need to really know people in order to get far. I wouldn't be close to anywhere I am without those I know.
