Mangold's 300lb little sister plays OL in High School (1 Viewer)

yeah, I think she and Nick don't really get along, but can you imagine how useful she would be? like, if you were moving into a new place or something. "I'm going to take these boxes out to the truck. sis, can you grab the fridge?"

She'd grab the fridge and eat it and then you'd have to go out and buy a new one. No thanks.

Is she sponsored by City Barbeque?
She works there.Just got finished watching the Real Sports segment. I highly recommend checking it out for those of you who have HBO. She is not what I expected. Totally cool chick, completely comfortable in her own skin. I'm rooting for her!

Saw the episode too. And while she is probably more comfortable than most fatties, I don't buy it. She can say it all she wants. That doesn't mean it's true. You could tell when she was eating that salad. If you're comfortable being a big giant fatty, why are you eating a salad? As a former fatty, I speak from experience. I can see the pain in her eyes. She hates herself, and she wishes she were more normal. No way anyone is comfortable with themselves looking like that.

I'm thinking most Olympic athletes have a strict diet.

Heard she was about to put up 450lbs when her body gave out and she took an 11 pound dump on the floor. Put her under her weight for her weight class and she was DQd.

She looks like half of the women on SUNY Buffalo women's swim team when I was there.

Dead serious.

Holley even overcame a potential wardrobe malfunction in warm-ups, as the zipper of her singlet broke off. "I was afraid it was going to rip in the crotch or something. Which would have been embarrassing. Because they have that camera right there, and that's all I need: a rip in the crotch and a camera staring up at me," she said, noting that she was wearing a second singlet underneath to prevent such a calamity.

I don't understand how a weight lifter can have that much fat. With that amount of muscle her metabolism should be much higher, let alone the amount of hours she needs to train. It just makes no sense to me.

Really? Have you seen most of the World's Strongest Man competitors? Or the guys that own the records for weight lifting?

Powerlifters are often heavy. They're much different than bodybuilders and train differently. They overeat (intentionally) and do little cardio (intentionally). Their exercises also focus on power and not muscle building, and they often work on sets with just one, two or three reps.

She also comes from a family of fatties. And she has access to unlimited BBQ.She never had a chance.

Guess who's a contestant on "The Biggest Loser"?

Central Ohio Olympian Holley Mangold Competes In 'The Biggest Loser'Posted: Oct 15, 2013 4:43 PM EST Updated: Oct 15, 2013 5:47 PM EST By: Denise Yost, Multimedia Content Manager

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Central Ohioans will see a friendly face among the contestants of NBC's The Biggest Loser this season.

Holley Mangold is pure athlete. The Centerville native is an Olympic weightlifter and fierce competitor.

She made the 2012 London Olympic powerlifting team, and she's the sister of former Ohio State football player Nick Mangold.

Now, she's sweating it out, trying to lose some of her 351 pounds on The Biggest Loser.

"The number doesn't really disturb me as some people might have said, but I'm always on scales. It doesn't mean who I have to be forever," she said.

Trainer Bob Harper talked to NBC4's Ellie Merritt about Holley's experience.

"You are going to see Holley in such a great light. I can't say enough great things about her," Harper said. "Holley is my girl. I love her so much. Holley is the definition of an athlete."

Harper said there is an episode this season during which he brings in other female athletes to help Holley with her mindset.

This season, it's all about second chances, and there are some new twists and turns, along with American Idol's Ruben Studdard.

"I think Holley is a winner, and if she puts her mind to it, she can do anything and win. Anything she wants," Harper said.

Have to imagine she'll do well. Most of the people on the show haven't gotten off the couch in years. She's obviously used to intense training.

Kinda seems unfair to be honest.

She's got the exercise part down, now she just needs to work on not eating 5 whole chickens as a snack part.
