Manning v. Brady II (1 Viewer)

As a huge Giants fan this one has me seriously concerned. Belichick and Brady have a huge score to settle with the Giants for ending their perfect season and they will be looking to unload a can of whoopass. I look at the Giants secondary and wonder who's going to cover Welker, Gronk and Hernandez - yes, the Giants beat the Packers' passing attack but that was as much due to an off game by Rodgers and a case of the drops by the Packers receivers; I don't see either of those happening. This could be a shootout in a big way.

I thInk the giants have a better shot of beating the pays this time around than in 2007 season. Their pass rush is every bit as ferocious rt now as it was back then when they rattled Brady's cage and beat him. I see no reason why they can't get to him and put him on his ### all game this time. And new England's defense is worse this time around. Andyhe giants offense is better. You can't say that new England's offense is better now than it was in 2007 when Brady threw for 5780000 touchdowns to randy moss lol.

Neutral ground. The giants have experience with how to rattle Brady. He is not mobile. I see the giants winning this one. And yes I'm a giants game but I'm not biased.

I thought they were gonna get mashed by the packers. But once I saw them beat the pack, a team I feel is better than new England, I knew this was destiny.

I expect that line to be dragged a lot in the next two weeks, but I feel it is insignificant. If the Patriots win, it won't be because they are looking for revenge from a game four years ago (one in which only two or three current Patriots even played in); it will be because they outplayed the Giants.

I think you Giants fans have forgotten just how bad your pass defense actually is. If it wasn't for a total defensive collapse by the Packers, 5 turnovers and 9 dropped passes we wouldn't be having this discussion.

Giants fan here also. I share the same concerns about the Pats offensive depth. They can run the ball and create mismatches with their monster tight ends. They are more multidimensional than 2007. Rematch but slightly different teams styles from both ends. However, I still think the Giant's pass rush poses mismatch again.. and they keep pressuring Brady with their overwhelming pass rush. ( I can already see Brady's turning red and eyes water). Eli in comparison is a cool as a cucumber and finally gets the respect he deserves.

Agree, but I believe that deep down the Pats players took that game for granted and they won't underestimate the Giants this time.

Maybe it's just the bitter taste of a brutal last minute loss for SF but right now this matchup doesn't really excite me. Seeing two teams "back" into the Super Bowl takes a bit of excitement out of the air.

Giants nearly beat them in end of the regular season that year. I don't see how they could've overlooked the Giants weeks later in the super bowl. Yes, the media will hype this revenge theme. I don't see Belichick motivating these young guys with revenge. I see a much younger team revamped from 2007 and Belichick, Brady and the few veterans will have to work on keeping these kids steady and focused.

For the QB's it's Brady making an even stronger argument for greatest QB of all time and Gets Eli a shot at being on HoF ballots but not a lock to get in like Brady.

If Brady doesn't win this game then any argument for being better than Montana go out the window. He's pulling a reverse Elway if he loses.

Yes, it was a close game but the Pats put up 38 points on the road and the game wouldn't have been that close except for kick-off TD from Hixon. I can just see how a team who was 18-0 could get cocky facing a team they already beat in NY.

I'm not even a 49ers fan but I was looking forward to having an underdog to root for. At least the first time around the Giants were taking on an undefeated team but now I'm not really looking forward to rooting for either team.

I see the Giants winning because as an Eagles fan, I am made to suffer :bag:

For Pat fans sake, let's hope Brady doesn't scoff at only scoring 17 points again. I think it'll be a great game.

I was going to come here last night and make a thread, but I was otherwise indisposed.

So I imagine even if Brady wins his 4th we will be hearing an awful lot of "ASTERISK, ASTERISK, ASTERISK" coming out of the dissenting opinion holders.

That being said, specifically Brady is gonna have to play better against the giants, receivers need to step it up too. Win #4, ends this argument again and might actually change some peoples minds (doubt it).

I think the GMen will beat the Pats pretty easily  . Who on Earth is gonna cover Nicks, Cruz, or Manningham on the Pats? On defense, the Giants have improved dramatically due to getting healthy. Their pass rush should help them overcome whatever inconsistincies they will have in their secondary. I mean its pretty simple, Giants beat the Pats IN New England earlier in the year and that was without Nicks, Bradshaw, and half their DLine being hurt. Whats gonna happen on a fast track with everyone healthy?

Ill say 34-20 Giants

Giants pass defense hasnt been bad since November. This is a completely different def now due to health. Comparing them to earlier in the year is foolish. They shut down 3 topp passing teams in the last 4 weeks (DAL, ATL, GB).

Who is gonna cover Nicks, Cruz, & Manningham in that Pats secondary? Julian Edelman? What was the last good offensive team the Pats played?

That is the compelling part for those without a dog in it.Can Brady cement his spot up there...can Eli pass big brother in rings?Definitely plenty of story lines here.

No. Belichick is obviously going to coach extra hard in two weeks to get revenge for that game. He may even give 110%.

If Brady is on his game, I'd expect to see a shoot out with a score in the 30s on each side. If Brady is off, I think it will be a long day for the Patriots. Manning is playing lights out and unless Wolfolk has a huge game (which wouldn't surprise me), the Giants offense will roll over NE. Giants 37 - 34 over the Patriots.
