But why go out of your way to bring up the dead girlfriend, even when a reporter didn't ask about her? I could understand if he had been cornered by the media or something, but to VOLUNTEER the story multiple times?? That doesn't make sense.Also, don't forget that he DID avoid the topic of his girlfriend at the press conference before the BCS title game. So at some point between December 9th and January 3rd he decided to stop mentioning her. But he had no problem spreading the myth for several days after he allegedly knew the story was fake.
