Marcel Reece OAK - grab 'n stash (1 Viewer)

Marcel Reece runs with a great combination of power and speed.

4.42 40 time, with a similar build as Peyton Hillis. 6'3, 240.

Dude is buried and may not get tons of opportunities, but he may reward those with patience.

I think he is a must add in all dynasty formats.

As a flex he might have value in redraft, esp. this weekend with Miller banged up.Reminds me of a "mini Nigerian nightmare- Okoye"

He actually measured at 72 1/8" and 231 at his pro day. Not that it changes your point at all - a guy that size that can run in the 4.4s and has serious ball skills (he played some WR for UW and had 9 TDs on around 40 catches) who subsequently blows up the first time his pro team gives him more than a couple touches is definitely worth a stash.

This guy was just picked up in my league. Whats the story on him? This is the only place Ive ever heard him mentioned, and now he's gone...

I've been interested in this kid since he got to Oakland. He's no tailback. He actually has some nice highlights when he was at Washington, that are worth looking up. But they are mostly pass plays. He was a guy without a position at Washington, but made some incredible plays in the passing game. Raiders picked him up as an interesting size/speed UDFA a few years ago. I think he was expected to be a H-Back/TE by draftniks etc. They moved him to FB, and he was behind Luke Lawton and Oren O'Neal. He was on the PS in 2008, and I think last year he bounced between the PS and active roster. We've been talking about him in Raider threads here for two years. But he really had to get his blocking up to NFL standards. He's a fullback that can catch the ball, and take it to the house. That's it. Not even a goalline tailback. I love the dimension he brings, and have been banging the drum for this kid for two years, but fantasy-wise? I don't see it.

I picked him up and like his talent, but feel like he'll be another Leonard Weaver - nice skills, but got his big plays by surprising defenses from the FB position.

As long as the Raiders keep blowing teams out, this 3rd string RB will be very productive. Looks really good out there. But tough to start in 2010.

im starting him this week over benson.....benson plays pitts d and he hasnt done much the past few weeks....this guy seems to be getting zach millers targets and has been productive with them...hoping one more nice week is in line for him

Problem is that he needs two injuries - one to McFadden and then to Bush - to have much value. Not that those guys are the most durable, but still needs a lot to happen.

Dynasty-wise, Reece have to go somewhere else as it looks like McFadden is the clear feature back of the future. Maybe if Bush leaves via FA next year, Reece can move up to the backup role.

He's not an option as a ball-carrier.

I think this is the most relevant part of this discussion so far. Been watching Reece for the last couple of years and while his play as a RB/FB seems meh, he has flashed tremendous skill and potential as a TE/WR. The TD he had on the slant pattern last week when he split the defenders was a thing of beauty. He did it after starting in the formation at FB and the splitting out wide before the snap. There isn't another FB in the league that can make that play.As long as Miller is hurting, I think Reece will get opps in the passing game.

Of course he is. He just has players in front of him right now.He is much faster and just as powerful as Hillis, I don't agree with the comment especiallysince I've seen nothing to show me that he's not an option.

Find a video if him carrying the ball as RB, and not a fullback.
