From the polls he looks like a solid 3rd in Iowa and perhaps 4th in NH. Back to 3rd in SC.So I'm guessing at this point a 2nd place in Iowa and/or NH would be considered a victory.
Hoping for at least one.
The continued high polling for Trump and a lesser degree Cruz is what I think will end up helping Rubio the most. After the initial round of major primaries I think the bottom of the lineup will start to thin out. The financial support and votes will need to swing somewhere and I think it will be the person best positioned to challenge Trump/Cruz. Other than perhaps Paul supporters swinging to Cruz, I don't see much other support going to Cruz and almost nothing to Trump.I dont know that Rubio or Kasich have the network to get fundraising post south carolina without a top two showing in one of those 3 states. The money will most likely dry up at that point and it will be a two horse race. I really think the electoral math in a general election would really favor Kasich or Rubio. A home state carry for either of those two would make a Democrat win difficult indeed. Karl Rove must be ready to eat someone.
People have been saying this for months and it hasn't happened. And there don't really seem to be enough votes between Rubio, Christie, Bush and Kasich to beat Trump even if the others dropped out and Rubio got most of their voters. The continued high polling for Trump and a lesser degree Cruz is what I think will end up helping Rubio the most. I don't disagree but the Democrats don't seem to want to win. They might reject Hillary and put in Sanders, which hands it right back to you guys. It's like one team fumbles and the other team fumbles next play.I can't believe it's come down to Trump or Cruz. Neither has the ability to win a general election. Might as well hand it to Hillary now. Idiots.

I know. And the sad thing is that if Trump is the nominee.... I am voting Clinton. Gawd.... I just threw up a little in my mouth.I can't believe it's come down to Trump or Cruz. Neither has the ability to win a general election. Might as well hand it to Hillary now. Idiots.
You know... if it is Trump vs Sanders then I give up on this country. Maybe we can hold best country to become a new citizen draft?I don't disagree but the Democrats don't seem to want to win. How many of those pages are a handful of whacko supporters and then most everyone else mocking Trump and his whacko supporters? Hint.... it has a 2 and a couple of 0's.Trump thread 200 pages
Rubio thread 4 pages
You can see Rubio really picking it up.
This gentleman gets it.I am down here in Florida and Rubio is the textbook example of a career politician with no skills to do anything else. He has never been able to balance his own checkbook, which has led to some questionable spending habits both with his gov't issue credit card and some of the deals he has had with political donors. He has not stood up for any issue, and the one that he did try to champion (immigration reform) almost blew up in his face and he had to backtrack severely from.
This is not a guy with principles. This is a politician that not only can be bought, he has been bought many times already, and still seems to not know how to keep manage the money he has gotten up until now.
He also gets flummoxed in the debates when he gets away from his prepackaged sound bites or anything that is off the cuff...
You don't have to vote, you know. If it comes down to those two I'm going to have to sit this one out.I know. And the sad thing is that if Trump is the nominee.... I am voting Clinton. Gawd.... I just threw up a little in my mouth.I can't believe it's come down to Trump or Cruz. Neither has the ability to win a general election. Might as well hand it to Hillary now. Idiots.
What's weird is that Rubio is rising in the polls and I'm liking him less.![]()
This is the most frustrating election ever.
I disagree. Sticking to the script is what I don't like.Rubio is just horrible when he goes off script and outside his coaching.
Yep. He's much more appealing when he's not on the debate stage using his talking points.I disagree. Sticking to the script is what I don't like.Rubio is just horrible when he goes off script and outside his coaching.
I think the pressure might be getting to him. He has always been stiff at the debates but earlier in the campaign, he was really good on talk shows. Relaxed, making his points, joking a bit. He's really wired now. I only saw a little of the debate, I have it on DVR, but he really needs to lighten up a bit.Yep. Really? That surprises me - I've not seen that anywhere. Most say he won the debate.
Maybe most isn't accurate but I've seen it in multiple places.Really? That surprises me - I've not seen that anywhere. Most say he won the debate.
Rubio didn't support the gang of 8 bill. And neither did Cruz.So did you disagree with the Gang of 8 bill?Dislike? Strong disapproval? What would you call it when they want to restrict it as much as possible? Both legal and illegal? That's a good thing. Look a little deeper and you'll realize that they don't hate immigration.Sorry, all I did was listen to the words coming out of their mouths. You need to read some more.Well see, I'm rubber and you're glue.Yeah see, that's just a stupid comment.I love how he and Cruz are trying to one-up each other with how much they hate immigration, the whole while owing their citizenship to their immigrant parents.
Cruz accused Rubio of flip-flopping on amnesty for illegals today while Rubio accused Cruz of wanting to increase the number of green cards allowed. It's like a game of who hates their parents more. Is that not even a tad amusing?
Neither hate immigration.
Upon further review I think you're right. I certainly didn't think he won - but I'm biased against him - but it looks like many do. Probably will help him Monday night.Maybe most isn't accurate but I've seen it in multiple places.Really? That surprises me - I've not seen that anywhere. Most say he won the debate.
I like Kasich, I've liked him on talk shows for years. Kinda like Biden. If that happens, I still think Rubio teams with Kasich and wins the election.
What we need is Mitt Romney.I have a feeling Rubio might be looking at 3rd or even 4th in NH
I think it's Trump crushing it followed by Jeb in 2nd
I think they both did but caved.Rubio didn't support the gang of 8 bill. And neither did Cruz.So did you disagree with the Gang of 8 bill?Dislike? Strong disapproval? ETA: There's nothing inhuman or indecent about opposing illegal immigration.Yeah Cruz is consistently wrong on this issue. Rubio showed a brief moment of humanity and decency but it's gone now.

And Rubio was in the gang of 8, but later denounced it and changed his mind. his current position is now opposite.bolzano said:Ted Cruz never supported amnesty. Iowa looks like 3rd for Rubio though the polls show he is rising while Trump and Cruz are falling. It would be very surprising to see that swing that much for him to place higher than 3rd though.I have a feeling Rubio might be looking at 3rd or even 4th in NH

Watch the video closely. The kid still didn't catch the ball! They show Rubio throwing it, then they awkwardly cut to a closeup of the kid with the ball already in his arms.
Good catch. I didn't notice that the first time I watched it.[scooter] said:Watch the video closely. The kid still didn't catch the ball! They show Rubio throwing it, then they awkwardly cut to a closeup of the kid with the ball already in his arms.
I wonder how many times Rubio threw him that ball before the director finally said "Screw it, we'll fix it in post!"

I think you have this nailed down. I can't listen to him because he never misses a chance to go on and on about it.Rubio is obsessed with Iran.
Pretty smart long play on his part. If he doesn't get the nomination this time around he'll end up looking like Nostrodamus by the next cycle.I think you have this nailed down. I can't listen to him because he never misses a chance to go on and on about it.Rubio is obsessed with Iran.
Cruz's amendment to the Gang of 8 bill supported giving legal status to illegals. Unless you believe what he is saying after the fact that it was a poison pill designed to kill the bill. I don't believe that. In fact, Cruz never officially went on record as saying he opposed legalization until the December 15th debate.bolzano said:Ted Cruz never supported amnesty. In fact, Megyn Kelly conceded as much after the debate.

How is it opposite? It seems like what he was saying at the debate was similar to what the Gang of 8 bill had in it.Fennis said:And Rubio was in the gang of 8, but later denounced it and changed his mind. his current position is now opposite.
I don't understand how Cruz can think it makes him look good to admit that his amendment was a "poison pill". He passionately defended that amendment on the Senate floor, and publicly urged everyone to vote for it. That alone makes him look untrustworthy. Why should Republicans vote for a guy who played games with the voting process? Cruz basically admits that he risked the security of our country in a bizarre game of chicken.Like I said, if you believe Cruz now saying that his amendment was nothing but a poison pill, I can see your point but I don't believe that. He was very vocal, on multiple occasions stating that he thought the amendment was what was needed to get the bill passed.
