Marion Barber (1 Viewer)

Every week, it's the same thing.

Monday (or last week Tuesday) I wake up the next day and insert MB3 in my lineup at the flex spot, stating that not another week will go by where this dude goes off for his 15+ points on my bench while Reggie Bush or Laurence Maroney flounders around for like 7 or 8.

I'm starting to think that I need to start the dude, no matter the match up.

Then again, it is early in the week, and I say that every week, and then make some stupid change last minute like last night when I put in Keyshawn :wall:

Barber owners:

Is your experience like mine, or have you been cashing in on him?

It just seems like he gets a TD a game.

I've been starting him but this week I just had a bad feeling about the game against the Panthers. I really thought Carolina would rout the Cowboys and so I decided to sit Barber as my RB3 in favor of Reggie Bush. That's the last time I will make that mistake. I don't care if he has two broken legs and is playing with only one arm and is blindfolded, Marion Barber will remain in my starting lineup.

I offered Caddilac Williams straight up for him but got turned down. And this is for my RB2 spot...

I was forced to start him last night due to bye week issues. I had pretty much written him off towards the end of the game....and then he get's two garbage TD's. I'm sure that last TD had a lot of people rolling on the floor in glee...and an equal amount kicking the dog.

He's a very risky start at RB....but he's a pretty decent flex option.

I think he's a pretty low-risk guy actually. He's scored in five of his last six games and in the only game he didn't score he probably would have if Tom Coughlin had challenged a TD that really wasn't by Bledsoe. The guy is proving to be absolute money in terms of scoring touchdowns. He isn't going to provide much in the way of yardage as long as Jones is healthy but there aren't many non-elite players who can boast of his consistency in terms of generating touchdowns. Plus Parcells loves him and that certainly doesn't hurt.

If you could just open up the Monday Sports Section on Sunday Morning before the games were played...

Your threads ADG have a ringing theme to them...it's hard to put into words but it exists. You either read some snippet somehwere and come in here and want feedback debunking the snippet usually...or you want to be able to blame the snippet of info for not pointing you to the right player.

On some level I am sure you want to blame FBG for not having MB III in their top10 for this past weekend.

I never post these but it does sum up your threads as of late

i'd did the same freaking thing :wall: plus not starting des clark

I am in a bad spot. I have J Jones and Barber. I quit startying JJ because Barber was stealing the TDs. I'd like to see JJ go down with a hamstring problem so Barber can take over.

He's been in my starting lineup every week for several weeks now. I went WR heavy after taking LT, so I am picking two between Maroney, Jlewis, and Barber. Barber always gets a spot.

I think it depends on who you have, but I wouldn't argue that in most cases he's a weekly starter. I have Rudi, Ronnie, Gore, DeShaun, and MBell too (not to mention top flex wr's), so its hard for me to start him over a Gore or Plaxico as my flex, but he's been great as a bye week fill in and such. I was hesitant this week with Romo and how bad he looked last week, so I sat him. Luckily it didn't bite me in the ### since I had Wayne, but at this point I might have to start starting him weekly, or trade him.

In my league (1 pt/40 yds, 6 TDs, -2 fumbles):

Julius Jones - 42.05 pts

MB3 - 45.78

So not only does Marion Barber currently have more points than JJones in my league, but he is the #8 RB

Granted there's 8 RB's within 7 points less than him (38+), but he's also 7 points from being the #5 RB...not bad for a guy I picked up off the WW after week 4

Since he's a play strictly on TD's (I think CAR had only given up 3 before yesterday too), I think he's a borderline weekly starter because he's got TD potential against anyone in the league

Is either Julius or Barber likely to leave Dallas after this year ? Could either become Fantasy Studs without the other ?

I've played RB musical chairs with Maroney, Betts and Barber since i traded away Bush and it's worked out VERY well. Barber > Jones as an FF starter. ...easily.

i have him in two (non PPR, TD heavy) leagues, and he starts every week. he gets all the carries inside the 10, and if they're losing he packs on reception yardage. in fact, i play him alongside JJones in my redraft and am loving life. dallas scores at least 1 TD on the ground every week, and Julius always goes for 100. it's straight butter, baby.

i will say it worried me to see him not log his first carry until the late 3rd/early 4th (can't remember exactly). but it seems parcells just loves getting this guy touches in each game, regardless of the score.

and if you saw the replay of his 2nd TD, you can see why.

MOP- you are one of the best posters on here, so sorry if what I am doing is pissing in the Shark Pool. I'm new to the forum, but I can see that you are one of the better posters, and I don't mean to post worthless stuff. I am a recruiter in Athletics Administration, mainly focusing on searches for NCAA division 1 coaches and ADs. (although lately I have just been doing position guys and SIDs, etc) So, I feel like I often do have good tidbits to contribute, due to my connections in College Football. These tidbits will be of more use to the board around combine time, I would imagine.I have nothing against FBG, not trying to passive-aggressively call them out or anything...Just wondering whether or not others say "just start him" about Barber. I find FF to be completely immersing and completely aggravating at the same time. BTW, what does the thing mean that points to the shirt? I know it's an insult, just not sure what it means.
