Mark Brunell (1 Viewer)

One Redskin cornerback is playing without being fully recovered from an injury (Springs). The other is out this week with a broken thumb (Carlos Rogers). The Redskins have been giving up big passing plays all year. I'd say the signs point to a big passing day for Manning. If the Redskins are to have any hope of remaining in the game they'll need to run the ball an awful lot, and effectively, to keep Indy's offense off the field.

So will they run the ball a lot? Or will the genius that is Al Saunders want Brunell to keep putting the ball up? If you can guess that answer, you can probably guess whether Brunell will have a big day or not.

I could start him or Farve...i feel like the skins will be down so brunell will have to throw the ball...and hes got some good recivers...Farve is @ MIA...am I tripping is this a no brainer? or a coin toss?

This is a great point. They have the RBs to do it, and Tennessee and Jacksonville have already shown this year that gashing the Colts in the run game is the way to have a good chance to beat them. Chew up the clock, keep Peyton on the sidelines.Brunell has looked subpar even when he has been forced to throw a lot. Santana Moss is always a threat to break some long TDs on his own and make Brunell's fantasy stat line a good one, but other than that possibility, his hopes are dim for a good game Sunday.

For me its him,Gradkowski or Plummer.

But because of the shootout possibility against the Colts, I may go with Brunell.

This offense is bi-polar (the defense simply sucks right now). When the offense is going well, everyone will do well; when it's not, they won't. I'm not impressed by the Colts defense, but then I wasn't with the Titans' defense either and the Colts are capable of jumping out to an early two-score lead on the Redskins forcing them to throw, which wouldn't bode well for Brunell. What's funny is that this team is so up and down right now that I can literally see them beating the Colts impressively, say 27-14, or losing miserably 35-6, or virtually anything in between. Brunell in this game is a feast or famine play, and a better than a guy like Walter but not someone you'd want to start over a QB on a team with a solid passing game.

:goodposting: Brunell may not have great numbers, but he might be pretty efficient. If the offense has success against Indy, I could see like 200 yards and 2 TDs. If it struggles, I could see anywhere from 75 yards to 300 yards with no more than 1 TD.

But if they get behind early and have to throw, he could have a big day in some 38-35 shootout.

Only if they stick with some sort of running game, though.Oh, and the Skins will be the ones with 38, right? :hope:

the colts are comming off a bye week so they might be jacked up and ready to hit
The Colts after byes under Dungy:2002, week 5 vs. Cinci; W 28-212003, week 8 vs. Houston; W 30-212004, week 7 vs. Jax; L 24-272005, week 9 @ NE; W 40-21They do seem pretty solid after byes, at least on offense, but on defense they're giving up 21, 21, 27 and 21 points, which isn't exactly stellar.

it wont be a shootout for washington, they'll be blown out (imo) because manning will score quick and early. Once/If that happens, look for brunell just to air it out and although maybe he'll get yards and maybe a td or two, he'll rack up the interceptions. go wiht leinart if hes avaible at home vs OAKLAND!!

I'm starting Brunell. If he throws for 200 yards and a TD I'll be happy. No other choice as my other QB is on a bye and there are no others on the WW.

I'm actually thinking of playing the Colt D AGAINST Brunell
10/19 11:52 Colts: Booger expected to practice today The NewsNewly acquired defensive tackle Anthony "Booger" McFarland arrived in Indianapolis Wednesday afternoon and watched some of the Colts practice. The anticipation is he'll be on the field Thursday and be inserted right into the rotation for Sunday's home tilt against the Redskins. "He'll get right in the flow with us," Colts coach Tony Dungy told the Indianapolis Star. Our ViewSeeing as Booger is intimately familiar with Indy's one-gap scheme and is in playing condition six weeks into the season, there's no reason for him to sit around when the Colts could so desperately use his bulk in the middle of a run defense that is surrendering 166 yards per game.

It is what it is said:
Two years ago (2004) Washington OC Al Saunders led the Kansas City offense to a 45-35 win over the Indianapolis Colts. The Kansas City running game had over 200 yards, and the KC passing game had close to 400 yards in that one. I can see a similiar game and outcome in this one. Washington badly needs the win, and Clinton Portis will no doubt absolutely run all over the Colts. Which will open up the passing game, as it did back in '04. Prediction:Clinton Portis and Mark Brunell will leave a Booger on the Colts home field.
No.
