Mark Clayton sighting.. (1 Viewer)

I know Clayton was hampered early on by an ankle injury and then by the general ineptness of the Baltimore offense but he was one of the guys I had on my sleeper list coming into the season. The guy has some talent but has been invisible all year until yesterday where he had 12 targets, 8 catches for 107 yrds.

I didn't get to see the game yesterday so I'd appreciate any insight into how he looked. With Cleveland (the worst pass defense in the league) on the slate for next week he might be a sneaky pickup that's probably available on the waiver wire.

He's getting mention in the Week 10 Waiver Wire thread also. Like I said there, I don't have stats in front of me but my sense is that he's been a 2nd half of the season type player in recent years.

If Boller gets the nod from here on out I'd bump up Clayton/Williams and knock down Mason...if memory serves, Boller, when he got in last year, went more to Clayton/Williams (while McNair more or less only has eyes for Mason).

I can't see picking up anyone one outside of McGahee in that offense. I dropped Clayton long ago, and have no desire to pick him back up, FWIW.

picked him up three weeks ago and stashed him on my bench til I could find someone to take cotchery. Ended up getting portis and walter for cotchery and campbell. I think I will be using him down the stretch here as my WR3. I think he holds pretty decent value there and should be used for exactly that.

Had a bunch of receptions and was brought down to the one yard line yesterday. I like him going forward.

my league is deep, so I've been holding him all year. If i can get WR3 production for the rest of the year, id be thrilled. I wouldnt even need it if Steve Smith had an NFL caliber QB again

He has 16 catches and 161 yards his last three games, thats with the pittsburgh game in the rain where he only managed 12 yards on 3 catches. I think with boller in there he is going to have a quite productive second half of the season.

He definitely has talent, and seems to be coming back to form, but I think his upside is limited by the effectiveness of this offense, even with Boller at the helm.

He makes a good WW p-up, but I would temper enthusiasm accordingly.

agreed, but playing against the Brownies this weekend he might produce some decent numbers in a pinch....

What hurts his value is Billick has been getting heat for passing too much. I think we're going to see alot of clock management and McGahee from here on out. Im giving him a whirl though.. im pretty weak at WR depth. He's not starting for me... but we'll see if that changes.
