Mark Ingram (4 Viewers)

I own Ingram, and as a Packer fan who has better rb options, I am not starting him. If I had to start him, though, I would not be afraid...the Packer D strength is a ballhawking secondary and great outside linebacker play. I can see Ingram getting close to 100 yards combined and a score here. Like another poster said, the saints backs are against the wall and they have to play great.

Saints have won their last 13 primetime home games. GB is good no doubt, but lets not award them the Lombardi just yet.

Waiting to see if Khiry practiced today to up the Ingram-meter.

Saints had never lost after a bye under Payton until last week. This team isn't doing so well.

If the Saints were on the road, it would make the decision easier for me. At home, Ingram has a much better chance for a great game. Right now I have him on my bench behind McKinnin, Oliver, Antonio Brown, Michael Floyd, Vincent Jackson and Sammy Watkins. Right now, I can't sit one of these guys and risk Peyton only giving him 11 carries to try to catch up to GB in a shootout.

I currently have him on my bench, with Lacy, behind Murray and Bradshaw. Despite the great match-ups, I can't bench Murray and the Colts' offense has been too good.

I agree.. Just not a foregone conclusion that GB will be up 3 scores early. Can it happen? Of course.

And good gravy that Payton after bye stat should have stayed intact. Should not have lost that game!

ETA: Wow.. Sunday line is NO -1.5.

bumping because robinson is out:

Rotoworld
"Khiry Robinson (forearm) has been ruled out for Week 8 against the Packers.
Robinson referred to his injury as "a little boo-boo" earlier in the week, but the Saints' medical staff clearly disagrees. As Pierre Thomas has also been ruled out, New Orleans' backfield will be dominated by Mark Ingram and Travaris Cadet versus Green Bay's No. 31 run defense. The stars have aligned for a bounce-back game for Ingram after last week's clunker against Detroit. Oct 24 - 4:33 PM"

Just saw this

Makes things more tempting for Ingram. I have to play two of McKinnon, Ben Tate and Ingram. Had Ingram on the pines...now it is a tougher decision.

I've got Ingram in a few leagues and was looking for a reason to keep him on the bench. Is he a better play than Lacy in the same game?

Makes my decision tough as well. After being a victim of Emmanuel Sanders Thursday night, I am now chasing points. Have McKinnon and J. Bell in right now at RB with Ingram on bench. Guess I have a couple nights to think about it.

No khiry and a limited jimmy have to increase red zone carry opportunities too. Can't wait to see this.
One thing's for sure, the fantasy community's opinion on Mark will be set in stone after this game. On national TV in a plus matchup, if he tears it up, he's no longer the Ingram of old and finally a player to own. If he stinks it up, he'll be crapped on mercilessly.

Everyone's telling me to start McKinnon over him. I keep telling them they're wrong
Why? Won't McKinnon get the Lions share of carries. I still see Cadet cutting into Ingram touches.
Mckinnon loses gl touches to Asiata, no? Ingram seems like the clear choice to me.
Yes. And cadet will take some passing downs, no more than PT has taken from Ingram in the past. I don't see how NO has a chance in this game without a successful running game with Jimmy gimpy as already stated.

The Heisman winner has performed well in the Superdome, with career splits of 4.76 YPC,

Ingram should dominate touches against a Packers defense that's allowing the 2nd most RuYPG (147.9) in the NFL this season.

This is like the perfect storm but I'm terrified to bench Miller or Bradshaw given how consistent they have been for me all year. I am starting him over Andre Johnson in another league.

LOL I'm terrified of starting him too. It could be 21-0 at the end of the first and then what? He gets 5 touches the rest of the game?

I'm doin' it ---- if you can't start him you might as well cut him loose or trade him

you're either in or you're out.

edit: over ben tate and jordan reed, depending on vereen

this is exactly the opportunity we have all been waiting for...how could you even flinch...he`s the only healthy back on the team worth starting

It's fair to wait a week and see what Ingram does with this golden opportunity before starting him or cutting him loose.

I am all in. it is the perfect storm. If you won't jump in now, then nothing will make you. I think he will also see maybe 2 to 3 touches in the passing game as well as all the rushing attempts.

I'm in. But still won't be surprised when carries at halftime look like this:

Ingram 5

Cadet 4

Lol, fn Payton

I want to start him but would have to bench Hilton, A.Brown or Julio to do it. I am actually leaning towards benching Julio given how bad Atlanta's line is and how tough Detroit is. This perfect storm is too good to be true right? If i've learned anything about fantasy over the years, it's when it's too good to be true (matchup, no competition for carries etc) it usually goes wrong.

It is easy to get excited at the potential with Thomas and Robinson out but I agree with the skeptics and can just as easily see a disappointing outcome.

Regardless not many backs are in a situation with truly zero competition so I think he should be in most lineups.

I would be absolutely SHOCKED if ingram had less than 15 carries. I would imagine closer to 20 and some involvement in the passing game too. What he does with those touches is anyone's guess but judging by the way he has been running when given the opportunity (not counting last week returning from injury not in football shape and vs a great run d) he will do well.

He's an automatic start as an rb2 with top 5 upside this week imo.

Cadet got a bigger bump than Ingram in my Yahoo league on the Khiry not playing news. He's a lock for 5+ catches tomorrow.

I'd be shocked if GB goes up by 3 scores, yes.
I won't be shocked if Ingram is underutilized or ineffective, but I will be shocked if GB gets up by 17+ points in the first half. This game should be set up for Ingram to succeed. I won't be accepting excuses if he has another game like last week.
