No but a lot of people are desperate. With all the injuries/suspensions to RBs, people are looking for someone to save their season.

My starting RB's week 1 were Ingram, ADP and Matthews. So yeah, I really need this guy back although Robinson hasn't bee horrendous.

If you think about it, he DOES offer RB1 numbers because if you carve Forte and Foster and Murray off the top, everyone else's numbers aren't that daunting.
Sure, there are a few other solid guys but nobody spectacular. When you see guys like Antone Smith and Alfred Morris (despite the WIDE perception that he is a stinking bust right now) crowding the top 15 and then you add into it that Branden Oliver, despite basically being unknown until the last two weeks is in the top 20...you don't have far to go to be big time.
Actually, had Ingram not been hurt and maintained his weekly average, even WITH the bye week, he would be top 5-7 in ppr leagues right now.

I'm quite worried about playing Ingram. I've been burned by Payton too many times.
Ingram was running just as good as Demarco Murray in his first two games. Imagine if instead of letting Demarco lead them to 5-1, the Cowboys gave Dunbar and Randle 10-12 carries a piece, and let Demarco run it 15 times. It would be ridiculous, right?
Well that's what Payton is doing. It's time for Payton to feed him the ball. But if he doesn't, oh well. Ingram is gonna go somewhere next year and absolutely dominate.

can u unpackage this? ingram looks like a good back. payton likes to spread the wealth. so which part of this bias, that ingram is being compared to murray? i can buy that last part i guess. or u think ingram just isn't very good? u obviously don't have much vested in ingram, i get that, but the negativity is odd to me based on what ingram has done and what the team allowed him to do in the first two weeks before the injury.

I've caught myself thinking I could do better than the actual coach - by feeding my FF players an infinite # of targets/attempts. e.g., I mean why not throw it to Megatron every down? 24 carries for 143 yards and 3 TD's through two games compares favorably. It's a question of opportunities.
Murray has received a minimum of 25 opportunities (carries + targets) in any one game so far this season. That's outstanding for (at least short term) fantasy production...imagine if NO gave Ingram that. Not that they would, and they don't need to, and I'm sure they won't, but...yeah...that's what he was saying I think. If they were to simply give Ingram looks closer to what Murray gets...it could be great.

gotcha. agree here. in addition murray's success in large part is that o-line they built through the last three years of draft and such in Dallas, Saints just don't compare.
While what you guys are saying does make sense, I think the NFL has trended way too far into the specialization of players. At this point it's a non-stop carousel of players being shuffled in and out, not just to stay fresh, but to play matchups. All of that for only 11 actual minutes of gameplay every week. The other 49 minutes is clock downtime. I say put your best 11 on 11 out there and play ball.
I would LOVE it to see there be a limited amount of substitutions allowed in the game. It would be better for fans to follow players, fantasy owners, and the speed of the game.

Yeah, because of byes and injury, it's him or Ivory for me. I'm probably going with Ingram, but I don't love the decision either way.
I like Ingram, but he's a scary play, not due to the Detroit defense, but due to the fact that he's only gotten 20 snaps in each of the two games he's played in. So only 40 snaps total and he's been utilized in almost 3/4 of those snaps, pretty much tipping their hand to the defense. I'd love to see the guy get to play at least 50% of the snaps and see how much easier it is for him to get something going, but that's probably not going to happen until next year.
I hope I'm wrong, but I think the probability of him scoring less than 6 points this week is at least 50%.

It's Ingram or Lacy for me. Until I see how Saints use Ingram post injury might have to stick with Steady Eddie for one more game :X

I bet at the time, Ingram and Murray being compared favorably wouldn't have raised an eyebrow. It's not as if Murray was the consensus number 1 RB when the year started.
The argument can actually be made that Ingram was running BETTER than Murray in the first two games, but just didn't get the opportunities.

I'd like to see a comparison of teams that do this a lot, versus teams that don't do this much at all.
I think it's really dumb to bring your running RB into the game on running plays, and then your passing RB into the game on passing plays, and then not mix it up. It's basically a way of telling the defense exactly what you are going to do.

Ingram had 13 and 11 carries respectively in the two games everyone is drooling over. The first of which came against an Atlanta defense that has proven to be a sieve against the run.

All Ingram owners/fanboys know that Ingram doesn't get the ball enough. This isn't being argued. I also don't think anyone in this thread is super confident about his opportunities in New Orleans.
But he still looked amazing in those first two games, which is all any Ingram fans are saying.

it was the flow of the game. I watched it. Robinson won't typically get that work. It's like any others situation on any other team. Sometimes the primary GL back doesn't get the GL carry. It doesn't mean Ingram isn't the GL back and that he won't get the majority. He will.

Don't think any one is saying that. I'm not but I think it's fairly obvious what ingrams role in this offense is. Grinder and goal line. That's historically been good for about dozen carries and goalline work in the saint offense. Sure things vary week to week especially if the saints are playing behind.

He also had 1 & 3 receptions in those games (5 total targets). I think relative to his draft position his owners would be very happy with a 14 touch per game average from Ingram.

Seems like NO likes to leave in whoever they have in the game at the time for the most part. I wouldn't consider Ingram the "goal line" RB, don't think they have one.
