Mark Ingram (1 Viewer)

When I watched him play after trading for him, he didn't really pass the eye test. Khiry looked like the better runner.

But, he has become a complete back who can run between the tackles, has a nose for the goal line, has become a competent pass catcher, and excels in pass protection.
I haven't seen him play much but he absolutely destroys Khiry in yards per carry. 4.5 vs. 3.2 and even catching the ball, 8.3 vs. 6.8.

I just don't know that I buy the numbers Ingram is putting up right now, but haven't seen much of the Saints this year. But he's averaging 4.5 YPC, not sure if he's passing the eye test. Then again he should keep this workload, at the least. I'm in first place in a PPR dynasty league and was offered Ingram for Watkins, just feels like a horrible idea given Watkins talent.

I don't know about Watkins, haven't watched him much this year. Ingram looks significantly better than his numbers. He's running with urgency and vision this year.

Interesting, thanks. I'm going to have to hunt down some cut-ups. Just seems like kind of a "too good to be true" thing after years of disappointment, it's hard to believe he's for real.

From what I've seen the worst thing was khiry spelling Ingram after big runs especially near the goal line. With him gone I'd expect more Ingram than anyone else to take those touches.

I have Lynch, and I consider Ingram my RB1. The Saints have a great schedule, Brees, WR group and Payton seem to be in sync, they are back in the race, are winning at home, Robinson is out as a vulture, etc. All good. I like him out of the backfield as well. Actually don't want to see his workload go up too much where it impacts efficiency. I think Spiller will emerge too. Plenty to go around in that offense.

Ingram ran well at the end of 2013 too. He finally is what we expected in his early years. Id say hes what we strive to put on our teams.

Very high floor.

Someone upthread mentioned how stiff the run Ds have been in the first half of the season (before the Indy game). So re: the 4.5 per carry, I think that is sustainable with some lesser Ds coming up.

Agree with Smalls. Good matchups, Khiry out, Saints playing well, and cannot possibly ask for a better wk 14-16 schedule. If you own do not sell this guy.

I sold CJ and Hillman for Lynch and then immediately flipped him for Ingram. Mostly because it's dyansty and Lynch is old. But value wise, I'm with you.

My 2 cents is with Smails

I am all in on him after watching him a few times. The team seems to understand what they have. I hate to see any player get hurt, but Robinson is not around to steal goal line work anymore. I cant see a way he falls out of the top 10 for the rest of the year

I traded Aj Green in one league and a 4th rounder (redraft/keeper) in another league

Wish he could have cashed in at the goal line, but gotta like the usage.

Rich Hribar @LordReebs: In their first game without Khiry Robinson, Mark Ingram played 69 snaps, CJ Spiller just five.
Yup, Ingram got 88% of offensive snaps vs. Spiller's 8%. Looks like Ingram is gobbling up all of Khiry's snaps and might even be cutting into some of Spiller's usage.

Is anyone picking up Hightower? @TB/Det/Jac (wk 14-16) is too good to miss out on in event of an Ingram injury. Was Hightower active this weekend?

On their 3rd play on offense, Ingram runs for 70 yards. He gets 2 more carries the rest of the half (plus 2 possessions of the 2nd half now). Makes perfect sense!

Inexcusable. Hope a reporter (or 3) take the idiot Payton to task for this.

I said it a few pages back but I will say it again. It was a mistake for Ingram to re-sign with the Saints. Payton thinks he is smarter then every other coach in the league when it comes to using RB's. He really doesn't have a clue.

isn't this the first game all year they did this? I agree he used Khirey at the goal line a lot but he was good at that

Did they ever say what the injury was that game? Not sure if I'm relieved it's the same or discouraged since it's been 2 weeks and he's still questionable.

He's not questionable yet. Official report doesn't come out until tomorrow. He's put in back to back limited practices. May just be trying to keep him fresh
