Marlin Jackson - RCB or LCB? (1 Viewer)

Sack-Religious

From watching the game last night it appeared that Jackson was playing RCB, when IIRC, he was slotted to play the $ LCB spot in the Colts scheme.

Am I completely wrong here, or have Jackson and Hayden switched sides?

Can't help you but I'm more curious why it matters? :goodposting:
Because if Hayden is playing LCB, it negatively affects Jackson's value. Jackson had an OK game last night 4-0-0 1 PD, but Hayden put up better numbers (not for the first time this season, either). I guess that could be a byproduct of the JAX passing attack, but I was under the assumption that Jackson was the LCB and therefore should be one of the better IDP plays on the Colts. He hasn't been bad this season, putting up some huge games, but if there was a scheme change I wasn't aware of, Jackson owners (in shallower IDP leagues) might begin to look elsewhere.

It looked to me that Kelvin was on the defenses right side. I just think the Jags figured they could take advantage of him easier than they could Marlin.

I just don't think they threw it Marlin's way much. And Hayden made them pay for it.

Watching the game it was clear that the Jags were not going to throw toward Jackson.

At the end of the game the Jags b/u QB (name has slipped my mind) threw a bad pass while getting knocked down. If he would have put a little more on it, Jackson would have scored a TD. I lost by 5 points. That would have gave me the W.

NFL.com lists Jackson as the RCB.

I'd assumed that the LCB in the Cover-2 schemes has more value as a run stopper, since an offensive team's "strong side" is usually their right a greater % of the time.

This would lead me to believe the Hayden>Jackson, but Jackson's been the more hightly-touted CB in the forum.

As a note, I believe A.Winfield and C.Tillman play LCB in similar defensive schemes.

Per NFL Gamebook Hayden, has lined up at LCB all year.Winfield and Tillman are LCB, I beleive Tillman lined up RCB last week.
