Maroney vs. Morris (Maroney Injury) (1 Viewer)

If you would have told me in the beginning of the year that my starting RBs for week 6 would be Sammy Morris and Jason Wright... Needless to say, I'm feeling ok this week. Thanks David for all the updates.
Those are my starters this week too......... :hey:
Boston radio claims Maroney is a game time decision. I know this information is very general + means nothing, but I thought I would throw it out there.

Morris and Wright are my startes also. I will have Maroney on my bench! I did not expect this to happen. My only other alternative is to start Morris and Maroney. Is there anyone else out there who is starting Morris and Maroney in week 6? I find it amazing that I am even contemplating starting two RB's from the same team? The Maroney injury is taking it's toll on my season.

 Me too. I am actually feeling pretty good about the combo this week.
I picked up Wright and I am starting him as well. With the news that Jamal Lewis will sit this week, I am pretty happy to have Wright in my lineup. Even if Maroney does play, who knows how effective he'll be?

I don't own Morris or Maroney, so I just want to throw out this unbiased view.

You'd have to be REALLY hurting at RB to consider playing Maroney this week even if he gets the green light. What's the best you can expect? He gets 25 or 30% of the carries against a very good run defense. I don't see a lot of upside there. Meanwhile, if you're monitoring this thread to determine whether or not you should play Morris, I would play him regardless of Maroney's status. He is on a roll right now.
Those of us who own Maroney spent a 1st rounder on him, so unless you went RB in the 2nd and Adrian Peterson in the 4th, you're probably very anxious to see Maroney on the field.

Just got a FBG email update that the Boston Herald is reporting Maroney out tomorrow.

Actually kept Maroney and SJax from last year, and took AP in the 4th. Needless to say it's been a bittersweet year. I'm more anxious to see Maroney on the field because it'll take away from the value on my Morris handcuff, and we'll be back to RBBC. ;)

Somebody on the FBG staff said to get Morris before the season started. I did. Thanks FBG guy whoever you were.

I took the recommendation after the 1st week on the waiver wire report. They mentioned he may have Dillon-like value w/ upside if Maroney got injured. Looked like a great pickup to me. So far so good.

Where do you rank Morris this week now that Maroney has been ruled out? I think he could have a big week in the second half of the Dallas game. Thoughts?

21 carries, 97 yards, 1 TD
I'm also playing morris but i think that projection is very generous. I see the Patriots doing alot of no huddle and shot gun formations to move down field. They MIGHT start running the ball in the 2nd half if they get a big lead, but from games in the past, the pats are not afraid to keep passing the ball when they have a comfortable lead

Count me in as well with those 2. And I'll up you one by saying Ike Hilliard is also my "must-start" with that group. Fun season so far.

Is Maroney officially out?
Not official as of yet. The Pats don't release their inactive list until roughly 60 minutes before game time, so probably not until 3:00 Eastern time. However, I have not seen anything that would suggest that he will play today and everyone seems to be reporting that he will be out.

I'm going with Maroney. My only other option is Jesse Chatman and I'm already starting Ronnie Brown. :ptts:
Sounds like you're better off with Chatman. KFFL had been reporting that Brown was "limping around" in practice all week, so you could hope they spell him more than usual. Or maybe there's a blowout and Chatman plays more? Not much to hope for, but it's (maybe) better than a zero. I think Maroney's a bad bet.
