Hey, it can't get any worse. I hope he is just talking smack, but I hope he plays like the old marshall!!! The one I feared before I owned him

DAVIE, Fla. -- Miami Dolphins receiver Brandon Marshall says he has been playing with his emotions in check and plans to show more passion Monday night against the New York Jets, with a goal of getting kicked out of the game in the second quarter.

• Blog network: NFL Nation

When asked if he was joking, Marshall said no.

"I'm not joking. I'm serious," Marshall told the South Florida Sun Sentinel. "They're going to fine me. It's probably going to be like a $50,000 fine. But that quarter and a half that I'm out there, I'm going to play like a monster.

"I might get in a fight with Bart Scott. (Antonio) Cromartie, we pretty much matured our relationship and grew a little bit. We used to fight in Denver and San Diego. If that happens, it happens, so we'll see."

In July, Marshall disclosed he was diagnosed earlier this year with borderline personality disorder. On Thursday, he said he hasn't played with enough emotion in the first four games for the Dolphins, who are winless.

Marshall said he might get into a fight or a shoving match against the Jets, or bang the ball off his head.

Marshall has 22 catches this year but is tied for third in the NFL with five drops.

Information from The Associated Press was used in this report.

There was also this from Omar Kelly in the Sun-Sentinel:

"During an early portion of Thursday’s team drills Davis broke up Matt Moore pass to Brandon Marshall, who followed up the play by showing off his punting skills. I’d say the ball went a good 35-yards, but lacked hang-time so Brandon Fields has no need to worry."

Back to his old punting the ball antics from when he wanted out of DEN. This is getting entertaining.

Well, I am glad he is calling it for the 2nd quarter because I can't see another reason for sitting through this snoozefest of a game.

THE time to buy low on this crazy cat... miami's D is atrocious and bmarsh is a target magnet. moore, sage or whoever.. he will get his.

i own him in one league and am trying my best to get him in the other.

I was reluctant to start him vs. Revis, opting to go with Crabtree instead. Now I'm DEFINITELY going with Crabtree. Marshall is just crazy enough to do this.

They should sit him for the rest of the season to see if he can gain any semblance of sanity back, and it would help them get closer to Luck...

I could be wrong and this could be just a bunch of hot air or a motivational ploy for his team to get them pumped up.

But I think what this really is--is Marshall letting the Jets DBs, and Revis in particular, know, that if they use their hands aggressively on him, he is going to retaliate and that wild man don't care about no fines. The fact is that Revis in particular gets away with bloody murder in terms of defensive holding, and I am sure Marshall knows this. Jets fans and Revis fans will whine about this and say it ain't so, but if you are not a fan and watch objectively, compare what he gets away with to what other DBs get away with, you will see that he plays by a different set of rules.

So, Marshall is throwing down the gauntlet, and saying, you want to play physical? I'll play physical. And I am not going to hold back, worry about penalties, worry about getting thrown out, worry about gettinga fine. I WILL hurt you.

More than likely, it is just posturing. But that's the under lying message. Marshall is not stupid despite what some people think.

And by the way, for people who say this is "insane" or who act like this doesn't happen in the NFL, you are naive. I remember back in the day reading Fran Tarkington's autobiography, and he described how their HC told a young player to just smack the opponent in the face. Lay him out. The player was incredulous, but the HC insisted. He did it. It was all about establishing dominance.

I'm sure Revis et al are very worried about taking an uncoordinated punch to the helmet or rib padding.

Exactly. I'm sure all the DBs are shaking in their cleats. Now if he is carrying a shiv, that's another story.

This guy has Borderline Personality Disorder. That's psychobabble for completely self-centered, blame everyone for my problems, ruin everything that is good in my life, all-around #######. Don't expect him to change. He will forever be a jackass.

I guess he's off his meds. Hide your wife, hide your kids.
You can't medicate what he has. It's a personality disorder. It's learned behavior. Those that get through Borderline Personality Disorder do so with a STRONG commitment to therapy. No pill for this treat of a human being.

When I first read the title of this thread I thought the word ejection was something else a lot funnier.

Good, Marshall is a better football player when he embraces the crazy.

(KFFL) Miami Dolphins WR Brandon Marshall is expected to be lined up against New York Jets CB Antonio Cromartie and not CB Darrelle Revis in Week 6.
anyone buying this?
Im trying to figure out where they are getting this info from....I mean I havent seen anything from the Jets camp saying that was the plan (and even if it were the plan, why say that up front to the media anyways???). Ticks me off, cause now its messing with my mind!

:lmao: same here. no idea what their logic would be, NYJ more worried about Hartline or Bess?

Jets cornerback Antonio Cromartie yesterday took delight in tweaking Dolphins receiver Brandon Marshall after Marshall on Thursday threatened to fight him in Monday night's game and get ejected.

"I really don't care," Cromartie said. "I know what kind of guy he is. He's a front-runner. He had to give you all something to write about because there's no talk down there because they're 0-4. They've got to win one game first before they can start talking.

"This is my 11th time facing Brandon. We have a lot of history together. Me and Brandon have been friends since senior year in high school . . . but when you're on the field there's no friends. I'm definitely looking forward to it."
Crom to face Marshall....saw somewhere that Marshall went for 18 and 166 when they faced off.

Cromartie, who will be facing Marshall for the 11th time in his career, says Marshall is "all talk."

I read somewhere that this was what happened last year - Cromartie on Marshall - and he held him in check pretty well. Thus that would likely be the plan again this year.
