Martellus Bennett - playing musical chairs with the NFL (1 Viewer)

He seems to be my target if I don't get an elite te in redraft.  Can't really think of a better te you can get this late

I agree. I'll be targeting in this order for late TE. Ebron -> Bennett -> Allen. Maybe Hunter Henry thrown in there even though he cost me a ship last year with his goose egg.

I was listening to the fantasy sports channel on satellite radio this morning and they were saying that Rodgers and Bennett are building a pretty nice rapport together in training camp that should pay dividends in the regular season.

Every team stop getting shorter and shorter.
With the Cowboys: 3 years, 10 months, 17 days
With the Giants: 11 months, 26 days
With the Bears: 3 years, 0 months, 4 days
With the Patriots: 11 months, 21 days
With the Packers: 7 months, 29 days

Could be big if Gronk is out...he didn't do much when Gronk went down last year because he was dealing with an ankle injury...def worth adding in all leagues
He'd be average at best if Gronk went out. Yes he was hurt last year but that was an early season ankle injury and he's also not entirely healthy now.

People need to quit acting like TE's on Patriots are gold. Gronk and Hernandez were gold because they are/were elite talents.

Marty B was not that great with Brady last year, not so good with Rodgers this year. That's like the reverse of if you "if you can make it New York saying".

I own Gronk in some leagues so I'd be interested in having him as a backup to Gronk, otherwise no interest at all even in TE premium leagues.

But good move for the Patriots as a team. Marty knows system, still a good blocker and again if Gronk went down he's better than Allen.

A potted plant has had as many catches this year as Allen has. LITERALLY. They both have 0 catches through 8 games.

If Bennett is healthy, he can probably do better then 0 catches.

What a turd. Fake an injury and say you need surgery just to make money on IR.

He can go to the Pats and quit on them. The guy has lost the drive to play. He just wants his pay check. He will go through the motions there just as bad as he was in GB. You can't take plays off for 1/2 the season and then suddenly turn it "on."

Good riddance. What a loser.

I hope GB goes after some of that 8 million

Bob Mcginn has an amazing article on how disconnected he seemed since day 1

He's awful. When things get tough, this guy completely quits and tries to go elsewhere. The last type of person you want on your team or to even know for that matter.

Awww they just don't like it in here when the shoe is on the other foot. Get their emotions worked up.  Poor guy all hot and bothered now
No.  It's just being part of the problem.  I'm no fan of the guy, but that nonsense is stirring the pot.  Per usual, you has to throw your ignorant two cents in.  And to call someone else hot and bothered?

Incorrect. Bennett went for 700 yards and 7 TDs in part time duty last year. The Patriots system fits his talent, he is a must ADD.

Please notate the difference between a fact and a difference of opinion.  I stand on my opinion, he was not that great. Great blocker, but you go ahead and trot him out as weekly fantasy starter and let me know how great that works out for you.

Looks to me that BB got in touch with Bennett after Rodgers went down and told him to pull a Lagarrette Blount.   Amazing the rest of the NFL isn't up in arms considering the Pats do this over and over again.

Said to have a torn rotator cuff. Will try to play through it. Participated in practice today. Not determined yet whether he will be active against the Broncos.

Right.  "Torn."

He is upset because the Packers wanted him to play, but he wanted surgery.  Yet now that he is in New England, he wants to play through it.

Logic fail by Martellus?  What a useless pile.  Screw that.  Any respect I had for him is completely gone.

League owners too busy dealing with Jerry trying to sue them because his pet girlfriend abuser got suspended.

Clearly Blount plus Bennett = trend further validating culture of cheating.

Why won't anyone think of the children?  What message are we sending when the evil Patriots continue to be allowed to damage the integrity of the game?  For shame.

What a piece of #### this guy and his brother are. Everyone is at fault except for them. A prime example of our culture at the moment.

The guy played through injury and is willing to continue playing while injured. He could have easily sat out the season and collected the rest of his paycheck. (But then you'd be calling him a piece of #### for NOT playing.)

I'm not quite sure why he chose surgery with the Packers but then after he was released decided against it and now is going to play.  I'm also puzzled how he could pass the Pats physical if the injury is so severe that he was advised to have surgery.

Something doesn't add up here
