Marvin Harrison (1 Viewer)

a player who's regressing physically.
Link?
See the practice reports from the past two weeks. I'm not sure what you're trying to argue about here. I'm as big a fan of this guy as you're going to find but things look real bleak for him at the moment. He's regressed in terms of his practice participation the past two weeks and one has to seriously wonder not when he's going to return but if he's going to return.
OutOutOutOutI don't see a regression. Maybe you have a quote from a coach?
Are you waiting to see 'Dead'?

That would classify as regression at least

He practiced all week last week in limited fashion. He's done zip so far this week. He's regressing in my opinion. Feel free to believe otherwise if you like.
Thanks. I'll keep correcting you.
Harrison is all done for 2007 IMO.

He didn't practice yesterday. Doubtful to practice again today. Looks doubtful he'll be back any time this season.

Bruises do not last this long, something was torn or partially torn.

What I don't get is that during the MNF game vs. JAX, during the pre-game one of the sideline reporters reported that Harrison was running full-speed routes, and caught what would have been a TD from Manning and then proceeded to dunk the ball over the uprights. Nobody with a torn anything in their knee or coming off even a basic knee scope is running full speed and jumping that high 2 weeks after injury/surgery. Plus, seeing recent footage of him in pre-game warmups he seems to be moving pretty well, which would indicate more of a bruise than a tear, IMHO.

This situation is very confusing. He could have a very deep bone bruise, I suppose. My best guess is that the Colts realize that with the loss to the Pats that they don't have a shot at homefield throughout the playoffs anyway, so they will rest Harrison until they need him. Even without Harrison they're good enough to beat everyone remaining on their schedule, so I think the Colts are being extra cautious with him.

I'm not so sure they can just count on victories at this point. Manning clearly is struggling without Harrison and the Colts have now lost two in a row. Another loss or two and they could drop to the third seed in the AFC. That's why I'm not sure I buy the whole "they're resting him for the playoffs" theory. If he's healthy enough to play, they need him now. They should run the table but they do face three great defenses in the remaining games after this week - Jacksonville, Baltimore and Tennessee. Two of those games are at Indy and all three of those defenses have had issues in terms of pass defense but if Harrison's out, that could balance the scales a bit. Plus, if they sit Harrison for two months just to have him ready for the playoffs how much can they count on him if he isn't even practicing? That's a long time to be standing around. I'm not sure it's smart to do that and just plug him into the lineup and expect him to be a strong contributor.

According to ESPN.com insider John Clayton, Marvin Harrison was unable to practice Friday and although the veteran receiver is listed as questionable, Clayton characterized Harrison as "very doubtful" to play agsainst the Chiefs this weekend.

In fact, Clayton suggested Harrison could miss next week's game -- a Thursday (Thanksgiving) nighter against the Falcons, too. ...

I think it's time to start dropping Harrison in a lot of leagues. He has officially become a waste of a roster spot.

Agreed. His season is over.

What did local or TV announcers report during the game yesterday about Harrison? Much of the same?

Any updates yet today due to the short week?

I'm not even sure I could trade my backup QB for this guy at this point.
