I'm with you in that I would have gone for it in both of those situations, given that the Bengals aren't going anywhere anyway.But whenever a Head Coach tries and fails in situations like that, they always get raked over the coals for it.

it was 4th and 2. the snow was coming down good. the punt was fine. usually i almost always say to go for it but with the weather, the def playing fine and the ineptness of the offense i like the punt. i mean, ball a the 47 isnt a huge opportunity given the way the offense was playing.and just to be results oriented, the steelers went 3 and out and made a crappy punt to the steeler 45 using 1:45 on the clock.

If Mike Brown is involved the organization will suffer into eternity. He is the anti-Paul Brown and the football version of the anti-christ. Marvin started out strong but he knows he can't win with what he's given to work with by the ownership. Pay Eric Steinbach, don't draft talented turds 'cuz they are cheap to sign. Spend more money on a real NFL calibre scouting staff and then actually listen to what they have to say. Mike Brown still sucks.com. It's a damned shame what Palmer has had to and will have to endure over the course of his career not to mention having to actually talk to 85 face to face periodically. Serenity now!

I am surprised he has lasted this long, but to his defense, albeit I hated the FG decision only to see that they subsequently almost got them 3 and out if Big Ben didn't make a nice play, the Bengals appeared to play pretty hard last night for him. In fact, they looked like they wanted to win much more than the Browns defense the other night...... Mike Zimmer has been a pretty good defensive coordinator and they need to start somewhere......... why not elevate him to see what he can do for the balance of the season?
