Marvin Lewis moving on (1 Viewer)

Bengals signed coach Marvin Lewis to a two-year extension through 2019.

After appearing to finally be on the outs after 15 years in Cincinnati, Lewis instead returns after likely winning some concessions from owner Mike Brown. Lewis had been talking as if he had to be convinced to stay, instead of vice versa. It's another strange chapter in a coaching career that's included seven trips to the postseason but zero playoff victories. Lewis can coach competent football — his teams have posted nine or more wins six times in nine years since 2009 — but at least so far, his style of play has come with a hard ceiling. There's little reason to believe the Bengals will final

UNBELIEVABLE !!!!

Should have saw this coming but I'm even surprised.  All I can do is kind of laugh, or as Marvin would do, clap it up or giggle.

Living in Cincinnati, I saw this coming after seeing his press conference a couple week ago, just wasn’t sure Mike Brown could be truely this incompetent. Two season extension, fans should be protesting this decision. Paul Brown turns in his grave every Sunday.

Mike Brown probably has the lowest net worth of any NFL owner, right? Like besides the franchise...he never did anything except be Paul’s son? Just curious, not being snarky, I don’t know much about the Bengals. But I presume he has no other success or life experience to call upon, and I always guessed his entire net worth is tied up in the club.

Pretty much the Bengals are the family business.

Mike Brown doesn't care about winning. As long as the team is making money, he's happy. Until the fans turn him, nothing will change. I would love to see a half empty stadium for the next 2 seasons, but it won't happen.

This guy must have some dirty pictures hidden somewhere. And every time Brown says "screw it send the pictures to the media" and tries to do the right thing, he gets cold feet.  :D .

I get that the turned the franchise around but this guy has the energy and excitement for his job of a wet noodle. He would not inspire me to make a run to the pharmacy, let alone winning an NFL championship.
