Thats not the point everyone is trying to make here. We can all agree that LeSean McCoy is the better player. Nobody on the Chargers roster is better than Matthews at his position.

I have not commented on points "everyone was trying to make", I was commenting on a post one person made that compared Mathews to McCoy in regards to fumbling. Based on their career stats, there is no comparison. McCoy has fumbled half as much in twice as many games, so to draw a parallel from Mathews to McCoy is ridiculous.

I am not worried about the trio of Battle, Brinkley or Brown. However the Fumbling does need to stop and i'm sure Mathews tries to correct the issue this week. He by far is there best player.

Bought low yesterday, hoping for the best..

 
Hopefully this is just a motivational tactic by Smith. Mathews plays the Chiefs and Saints over the next 2 weeks so this could be the perfect storm for him to explode. However, if he struggles or puts up a couple of mediocre stat lines it might be time to panic. Even if Battle plays the Tolbert role, Mathews showed last year that he can still put up great numbers. I do think the loss of V-Jax hurts the entire offense though.

To be fair, I don't think anyone would think it would be this bad. And common sense would have you believe that the Chargers would use arguably their best offensive player as much as they can. If I'm going down with the ship, I'd rather go down with a talented RB that got screwed by his GM/Coach instead of drafting Chris Johnson who has just lost it. I still believe Matthews will end up being a top 12 RB the rest of the season. It wouldn't make sense for the Chargers to limit him this much.

It sucks for today, but these things have a way of working themselves out.

Mathews was a 1st round pick for a reason. Battle is a High-Motor RUDY with extremely limited talent.

:goodposting: As hard as it right now to stay calm. I think Mathews will be the main back within 2-3 at most. The Chargers clearly just want to send him a message. Could make him a great buy-low.

While this is probably the best way to look at it. I'm 1-2 and my blood boils every time I see Battle in on 1st or 2nd or Brown in for what seems like every 3rd down.Guess I'm about to just :banned: and try to enjoy the rest of the day.

Wrong about what? That Matthews is the Chargers best player at his position? Its easy to sit there and criticize everyone else after the fact. If anyone came here and said Battle will start over Matthews, everyone would have said that was crazy.
 
Battle looks awful at 2 yards a carry but for fantasy purposes he got the TD. All that matters.Mathews is a better RB but this is fantasy football and Battle got the TD so he's got the points.

This is exactly why I expect Mathews to take over once the Chargers play a decent team(Saints next game?) and need to score points. This game is the perfect time to send Mathews a message about his fumbling issues since they're up big against a weak team.
 
Well seeing that the game looks to be a blowout, maybe they'll give mathews some garbage time carries. I mean they should want to give him some carries i would think seeing that he pretty much had no pre season since he got hurt.
