Matt forte droppable in redraft? (1 Viewer)

With 2 weeks left in the fantasy season is it safe to say we can drop forte from our rosters to bolster for the final 2 week of the fantasy playoffs? Does anyone have any solid info on whether or not forte will play in week 16? And even of he does do we take a chance with him in the lineup in such a crucial game coming off a sprained mcl?

What say you guys? Have others cut bait?

Depends who your picking up, if it's Felix Jones go ahead. My only reason for keeping him is I don't want anyone to use him against me in a pinch. I would avoid him vs GB if possible.

But do you think he will play again in week 15 or 16? That is my real question I guess...Personally I am leaning towards the thought that forte will not play and even if he does he would be limited and a risky fantasy option.

I am inclined to drop him but first I want to make sure I'm not missing something. It would kill me if I did and then I played against him in my fantasy sb!

He's done. Prepare yourself for the rest of the way. The Bears are virtually out of the playoff race and Cutler is gone too. Move on.

I've long forgotten about Forte. I'm struggling whether to pick up Kahlil Bell or not in the wake of Barber's miscues.
I'd pick up Bell if available. Check out the early RB rankings and Bell looks like a decent play this week. Although they also really like Barber. And this is for another thread I have no interest in starting. Is it safe to drop Darren McFadden in redraft?

No chance Forte plays next week?
:goodposting: I am holding on because I can keep him next year, but I think I would anyway as the league I have him in plays a week 17 championship. I still doubt he will play again, but this week will be his second week out. He could definitely be healthy enough to play (he didn't miss a game before with an MCL sprain), but I just don't know if he/Bears will risk it. I think that is actually the bigger risk. He doesn't have his long term deal, so no real incentive to risk further injury and if the Bears do in fact want him long term, why risk him as well.

Not sure I really trust early rankings this season, but I do think the sentiment that Bell will see more opps given his performance on limited carries and catches will help the Bears.Dropping McFadden is tricky -- again, I have no more info than you, but I suspect with little news on the situation other than he won't require surgery, worst case scenario is that he is back for Week 16. Even then, bound to be a more evenly split distribution of carries with Bush doing an admirable job keeping the ground game going. There is a lot of rust to knock off in practice before McFadden is back to full mid-season pre-injury form.Guess it comes down to whether the guy you are picking up for McFadden is going to help cement you getting to Week 16 to begin with. If it's a toss-up, would hold onto McFadden through today/tomorrow to see if he makes it back to practice. If you need a guy to get you to the Championship, then drop away. Better to take that risk and be in it to win it then not have the chance at all.Anyway, that was my thinking when I dropped Forte.

Thanks for the response/insight.You answered my question perfectly. The answer is that there is nobody on the waiver wire that will help me in week 15, so why bother dropping McFadden now. If I make it to next week, I'll have much easier decision to make then. In one league, I'm starting Bell (for now) based on the early ranking. My RB's are all horrible, but I have to pick two and hope my WR's can carry me to the championsip.

Matt Forte (MCL sprain) is still ''several weeks'' away from playing again, but said he would consider coming back on the field even if he's not 100 percent."A lot of people were speculating about Christmas Day [against the Packers] and things like that," Forte said. "But my mindset is, realistically, playoffs would be the only thing that I would really have my mind set on." The timetable for Forte was initially reported as ''up to a month,'' but he's looking like a longshot to return in the regular season. Marion Barber and Kahlil Bell will share carries against Seattle.
those who had hope of a week 16 or 17 come back can now drop him in redraft

Unless this is a negotiating ploy...the Bears need him just to get to the playoffs.
