Matt Gay Stat correction 49 vs 50 yard field goal (1 Viewer)

He hit a field goal from the 32 yard line, you I watched it and also see it confirmed on the drive history. It should have been (right?) a 49 yard field goal but he's getting credit for a 50 yard. Any chance the NFL corrects the stat?

I thought that more recently holders have been setting up 8 yards behind the LOS.  Used to be 7 but last few years it seems to more commonly be 8.  FWIW, I did not see the kick nor where the holder set up.  Am just refuting the "add 17 to all kicks to calculate" pov

That’s interesting. I always add 17 and if it’s one more assume it’s between the yardage on the half yard marker and they round up.

Yeah it was always 17 when I was younger but has been 18 for quite a while now. Maybe earlier 2000s it changed?

It's been creeping that way for over a decade, yes.
