Matt Ryan owners (1 Viewer)

anyone trying to sell matt ryan with the high possibility of atlanta locking up playoff spot early?
Not me. I will focus my attention on watching the waiver wire like a hawk to see when someone drops a good backup player. I'll also pay close attention to the players who look to have good matchups for the final two weeks of the year, just in case (it's a little early now, since a lot can change with perceptions of teams this early).

I picked up Freeman with this in mind. He has a decent playoff schedule against the Eagles, Saints, and Rams.

Eagles and Rams haven't been good to QB's so far this season if you look at PPG.

Fair point. Guess I'll see how Freeman does until then. The Rams and Eagles have done pretty well, but a lot of success has come against lesser QBs (not that Freeman is that great :lmao: ).

I guess I'm the only one going with Sanchez. Jets are 10.5 point dogs on the road against NE. The Pats safeties can't cover grandma running a post. The Pats are likely to jump out to a lead, and Sanchez will have to throw. In fact, with all the other byes I have, I have to start Kerley and S Hill too... so might as well hedge the bet on a long shot and pray Sanchez throws 3 TD's this week. All my eggs in one basket. Omlet anyone?

I drafted Wilson, dropped him for Fitzgerald and now grabbed Sanchez for the bye. Hoping for a shootout, with Lloyd being another of my 4 starting WR's. Thankfully, I also have Wayne to start but... I'm expecting a loss this week unless.... :excited:

You guys have got me thinking long term now, about the possibility of Matty being iced the last few weeks during the playoffs. Looking at the top 10 available QB's in my league and their playoff schedules (weeks 12-14):

Christian Ponder, Min - @Chi, @Green Bay, Chi

---------------------------------

Matt Schaub, Hou - @Det, @Tenn, @NE

---------------------------------

Carson Palmer, Oak - @Cinn, Clev, Denver

---------------------------------

Philip Rivers, SD - Bal, Cinn, @Pitt

---------------------------------

Josh Freeman, TB - Atl, @Den, Phil

---------------------------------

Sam Bradford, StL - @Ari, SF, @Buff

---------------------------------

Brandon Weeden, Cle - Pitt, @Oak, KC

---------------------------------

Russell Wilson, Sea - @Mia, @Chi, Ariz

---------------------------------

Mark Sanchez, NYJ - Ne, Ariz, @Jax

---------------------------------

Ryan Tannehill, Mia - Sea, NE, @SF

It looks like Palmer and Schaub both have good looking schedules, although the health of their receiving targets (especially Andre Johnson) must be taken into account, as well as if you have a player like Foster or Dmac. Sanchez also has a good looking playoff schedule, but it's hard to predict anything with a team like the Jets. I've WW'd Hasselcrack for week 7.

Everyones talking about Freeman this week as the bye week QB to get.

What are everyones thoughts on Fitzpatrick though?

He's playing at home, coming off two bad outings on the road against tough defenses. He'll probably want to get the bad taste of the past two weeks out. Easy matchup. And most of all, isn't his potential a bit higher for good matchups? 5 WR spread? Spiller as a HB to dump it off to who can take it to the house on any play?

I know Freemans a momentum QB and the Saints are a great machup too, but am I missing something here? Is a 350 yard, 4TD day out of the question for Fitz? Even if he throws an INT or two? I see Freemans ceiling closer to 300-3TD.

I went with Fitzpatrick instead of Hasselbeck in one league, but Freeman wasn't available

I dropped Ponder to grab Fitzpatrick when he became available. For this week, I think Fitz is a solid option...but I doubt he holds much value as a long-term backup.

The weather will turn cold and noodle arm Fitz will rise to the surface. Hell, I think his last two performances were a product of the average temperature dropping by a couple degrees.

I think it had more to do with playing the 49ers and Cardinals. Regardless, I'm sure he'll slip like usual. He's a one week rental for me, and I'll probably drop him and pick Jake Locker back up next week.

Rolling with Hasslebeck (at the moment). Anyone worried that the game is played in Buffalo at this time of the year? Other options are Ponder, Weeden and Bradford.

I remember reading an article last week, the Bills have suffered some losses on their offensive line. I didn't get a chance to watch the game to see for myself, but Fitz hasn't produced much these past two weeks and that depleted o line may be to blame.Managed to track it down: Bills get even thinner on offensive line

Fitzpatrick was my original choice, but I decided to roll with Freeman instead.

I've finally chosen to hedge between Freeman, Palmer and Hass. The odds of all three turning in solid performances is rather slim, but I don't have much of a choice.

i chose fitz as my play this week, will be dropping him even if he puts up 5 td's this week, I can afford to waste roster spot on a backup QB when I will be starting Ryan the rest of the way.

Trying to decide between Cutler or Hass.Leaning Cutler, but I love Hasslebecks match up.
Go Cutler.
QB Jay Cutler has a 105.0 passer rating in seven career starts vs. the Lions with 10 touchdown passes and one interception.
It’s true that Cutler has had meltdowns in other prime time games and in some “big” games as a Bear, but not on Monday nights, when he’s 5-1. Under Lovie Smith, the Bears are 8-2 on Monday Night Football, and the quarterback has had a big hand in that success. Cutler has had a passer rating of higher than 96.0 in five of his six Monday starts with the Bears, and his cumulative passer rating on Monday nights is 104.9 since he arrived in Chicago in 2009. He has been intercepted just three times while throwing 13 touchdown passes and completing 63.3 percent of his passes.

Everyone has put up good numbers against Tennessee, so I'm willing to take the chance on Fitz, regardless of what he's going through.I would think his lessened performance has more to do with playing the 49ers and Cardinals than anything else.

I picked up Freeman earlier this week but am re-thinking that pick vs. picking up Cutler who is available. The post above has me itching to make the swap...over thinking?

I'm all in on Brandon Weeden. Anyone with me? Anyone? :tumbleweed:
I'm with you... but it's not like I have better options.I'm in a 16-team league and my drafted QB2 was Russell Wilson.I'm grateful I was able to snag Weeden 9 days ago. And even then I had to beat out the Brees-Cutler owner who needed a guy to spot start in Week 6.

I originally drafted Freeman just for this week, but had to cut him 2 weeks ago due to injuries and bye week issues. He got claimed and now I'm stuck between Hasselbeck, Ponder, Weeden, and Palmer. Just picked up Hasselbeck as I think he has the best matchup/upside.

With Ryan on a bye this week, I have Schaub going but I'm not confortable starting him. Thinking of plugging in Hasselbeck, but I know others are pushing Fitzpatrick.

I'll be debating this one 'til kickoff Sunday.

Here is a teaser... last 2 games in Foxboro, Sanchez has 5TD passes and 360 yards... just sayin'...

The person who has the balls to start Sanchise deserves whatever comes their way, win or lose.

In the exact same boat. Picked up Freeman but Cutler is sitting on the wire. I have Marshall, so not sure I want to put so many eggs in the CHI basket on Monday night, but something is telling me that's exactly what I should do. Not sure I trust Freeman as much as Cutler.

Well... extenuating circumstances. With byes (Ryan and J Jones, M Floyd)and injuries, it looks like I will have to start Kerley, S Hill, Gronk and either Lloyd in this game or J Dwyer as my flex. If Sanchez sucks as most expect, so will Kerley and Hill. So, as goes Sanchez, so goes my chances this week. Now, if Sanchez can throw for 3 TD's, something he HAS done in the last two games at Foxboro (he had 2TD in the other) it just might work. I do not expect it will. With both Kerely and Hill... in a way, I'm already in bed with Sanchez. Ack. That is sooo bad on so many levels...Like I said earlier... all my eggs in one basket. Omlet anyone? Might have some eggshells in it...

Looks like most of the options worked out well. Freeman wasn't available in my league, but Fitzpatrick worked out well (and actually outscored Eli Manning, who my opponent had).

Is anyone else scared of starting him this Sunday because of the reports of rain/winds from Hurricane Sandy? The best option on my waiver wire is Hasslebeck vs. the Colts...but I'm considering picking him up and playing him if the reports don't improve.

I can't imagine he'll be throwing too much if there are 30mph winds and rain. Fortunately for me, my opponent is starting Julio Jones, so he should be affected as well, I suppose.

I don't see a huge issue weather-wise.My link

From what I've heard there will be heavy rain and 30+ hour wind gusts. The report you posted isn't as scary... But still a concern.
