Matthew Stafford (1 Viewer)

Looks like we need a Stafford thread going here.

In terms of injury, Stafford was pulled late in the game today because of a strained right leg muscle. MRI scheduled for tomorrow.

In terms of performance, Stafford has been pretty disappointing this year. Over three games he's put up 3 TDs and 4 INTs. This is certainly below the top 5 QB performance from last year. Can any homers or people who have been watching his games closely comment on what's up? Is it just that he's faced some pretty good defenses? Or has the quality of his (or his teammates') play decreased noticeably?

He was actually throwing the ball well today, the problem is the coaches are hell bent on running. This team looks much better when they just wing the ball around the field 50+ times a game. I think the injury is minor and he wasn't brought back into the game because of the way Hill played

Coaches know they have a ####ty defense.... They have to run the ball to protect them. All those that drafted Stafford early are frankly screwed.

Wasn't the defense bad last year too? Honestly it is only week 3. Game 1 he looked rusty. Last week he played San Fran. This week game plan was to run and he got pulled late with an injury no one is worried about. Too small a sample to completely panic. He is a hold or a buy low candidate for sure.

This guy needs to man up, watch some Shaun Hill film and try and be an NFL QB with balls.
youtubeclipofstafford

Where do you people come up with this crap. You guys just spout off from the mouth just to hear yourselves sometimes. Dude has more balls than most out there. Watch for yourself.

Secondary is a wreck and dline isn't getting the push it had last year. Delmas still hasn't played a down and they troll the waiver wire every week for DB's.

That is just crazy talk. Completely crazy.
I knew I was crazy wehn I watched Shaun Hill come in and proceed to throw to Calvin Johnson regardless of coverage and drive them down the field twice to attempt to win the game that Stafford couldn't because he was too chicken to throw to Calvin and instead was throwing to the gawd awful Will Heller.

Shaun Hill is very capable and one of the best backup QBs in the league. If Stafford needs a week or two off to heal up, the Lions will be fine with their franchise QB missing a game or two if it means having a healthy stud for the last 10 games.

Since their bye is next week, I'm guessing they sit him this week and give his leg the full 2 weeks to recover. Just a hunch...

Calvin Johnson owners need not to worry if Stafford is out. Hill really is a capable QB.

Stafford looked great yesterday, he was taking what the defense gave him and only that that stopped the Lions was a handful of drops. Not really sure about this strained leg muscle deal tho. To me it looked like he thought the game was basically over and he didn't want to stick his neck out trying to make a play that would probably get him creamed. The whole timing just seemed suspicious to me. Just sayin...

Hill is a good backup but he cannot make the throws that Stafford can, with all week to prepare for him I think the Vikings could expose him a bit. I think we might be kept in the dark this week

No way does he miss a winnable home game against the Vikings if he can play. He'll get two weeks off anyway because of the bye.
