MB III Scoring TDs at Prolific Rate With Romo (1 Viewer)

in the unfortunately titled "JJ is done" thread, in breaking down the numbers i noticed barber had a respectable 4 TDs in 6 games, but he has taken things to another level with 7 TDs in 5 games...

prorated, that would be an incredible 20+ TD pace over 16 games!

no maybe for the same reason that sceptics still question romo's competition in his wins (few tough games against CAR & IND, but rest not so much), barber's improbable blistering TD clip falls by same verdict...

couple questions... not assuming change in role with JJ in 07, or loss of any principals on offense like TO, and if romo continues to play this well (admittedly speculative & probably a stretch but just for arguments sake)...

how many TDs do we think barber scores in 07... anywhere close to 20?

what is record in combined TDs for a non-"starter" RB or goal line specialist? don't know, but highest i can remember is derrick fenner in SEA who had around 16 in this capacity (i think... also not sure, but guessing that was 16 game schedule)...

We found out yesterday that not only is Barber the top running option inside 5, he's also an option on play action passes.

In the dawn of the Romo era, he's a fantasy RB2. If Julius Jones misses time, he's an RB1, and a top 6-8 one at that.

MBIII = dynasty goodness.

Barber has now scored 6 TDs in his last three games. This is an incredible level of production. As insane as LT's production has been, I don't think Barber's recent TD stretch should be ignored either.

MB3 didn't score againt the Redskins so this still holds true. They have won every game where he has found the endzone this season. He's going to be in on obvious passing downs, short yardage, to close out games, and in the red zone. Julius may get more carries but he's nothing more than Fred Taylor at this point while MB3 is Drew only in a better situation.
