MBSL2 - Draft Thread (Cumulative) (1 Viewer)

The backup QB situation is going to get dicey soon for teams that want to carry only 2 QBs. None of the selections are overwhelming, but I'll go with the guy with 2 talented WRs to work with, post-Martz.

7.08 JOHN KITNA (4)

Not the direction I was originally planning on going, but...

7.09 QB Vince Young, Tennessee Titans

:excited:

I'm out for a long weekend again (I love being able to split up holidays and work 3 or 4 day weeks during the summer). Leaving Thursday around 6:00 PM, getting back Sunday around the same time.

Road Warriors, can you (or any other volunteers) be able to take my list for rounds 9/10?

I'm hoping we can at least get to my pick (8.10) tomorrow.

I can. As I can for anyone who needs me to.. I check many many times a day..

8.02 Javon Walker, WR and unretired for the Raiders

Sweet, my last 2 picks I've got guys who've been thinking about retirement for this upcoming season.

You have 1 guy who may be mediocre and 1 guy who will probably play less than 1/2 of the season.
I'm not high on Walker, but the talent pool at this stage is getting slim. IF Walker can turn it around, he can perform as a WR3. If not, you certainly can be right.Brett Farve was drafted as what, QB 18 in this draft. My guess is he'll live up to that ADP, if you don't I'd be willing to put a wager on it Frank.

Actually, I agree with you on both points. :goodposting:

I don't want this to sound like whining, but how is it that there are such lulls in drafting.

Do we not consider that we need to check in when we sign up for these drafts?

Are we not able to make a list of 5-10 players and send them to someone in case we may not be able to check in?

Are we not sending PM's to each other?

I know there is an 8 hour time limit and nobody has timed out, but we are using between 4-6 hours between picks many times and it is really dragging this thing out. I'm not trying to stir the pot but these extended delays are nearing ridiculous IMO.

I plan on being away all weekend and will provide a list of 30-40 players for the next three rounds. I suggest we all do this if we do not feel we can check in regularly.

rant over ...

Well, it's apparent that my WRs are going to suck donkey.

Why not go for the home run.

8.05 Ted Ginn Jr.

The last two picks, while frustrating, make this one easy:

8.08 QB Matt Schaub, Houston Texans

just to give everyone a heads up, I won't be able to make my picks until about 1pm Central time tomorrow (assuming I'm up by then). Too hard to leave a list b/c I need to evaluate bye weeks and with 30 picks before I'm up again, I don't want to screw these up too badly.

Join the club. I was going to take Ginn at my pick but I already have two wr's with a bye week 4 and i couldn't even take the guy i wanted and ended up with walker.

From ravnzfan...8.14 Jeff Garcia, QB, TB
I went back and forth between Jackson and Garcia. My starter is Peyton, so I'm good there, but he has some tough matchups early on and a bye week in Week 4. Garcia's schedule looks a tad easier IMO, but Jackson I think has a little more upside. Of course none of this would have mattered if Schaub or Campbell had fallen to me...

If one of them was left, they wouldn't have gotten past me.

After another hour or two, I will be away from the computer for the next several hours after that. I don't want to hold this up, so can someone take a PM for me?

I will check back on the PM thing soon.

Thanks.
