McClure's BBQ (1 Viewer)

This will end up being like the chive shirts you see except it won't be worn by the biggest douchehats in the internet.

Logo & font info for shirts just sent to Icon....shirts in a couple of weeks I think.....
Received. Working with original artist to get everything square, then tweaking and passing along to my shirt guys.
Is the shirt guy local?

if so you are smart enough to know where I am going with this.

But just in case, ;) hold out an XL sized shirt for me and I will pay Tipsy for it.

Tipsy saves on sending one back where it came from.

Of course this assumes this is even possible.

If it's a they all get massed produced and packaged together to be launched down to Tipsy from the shirt guy then, oops

never mind I R DUMB.

Make sure there are plenty of XX and larger sizes. A large number BBQ lovers are not small, medium or even large...

There will be XX+ sizes available online (and likely in store) for sure.

We will likely be dealing with Sache on South Main. They will handle printing a large batch to send to Tipsy for in-store use, then they will handle printing/fulfillment/website for the online orders as well. I will likely be having a sub-batch printed for local friends and I'll be happy to work with you on that grouping.

Maybe for the FBGs who get shirts (I'm in, too, BTW) you could charge an extra, say, $5 and throw in a baggie of your rub... Maybe enough to do 1 rack of ribs or so. Just a thought/hope.
This is likely not going to be feasible considering the rub is made in NOLA and the shirts will likely be printed and shipped out of Memphis. If tipsy wants to work something out though I'm sure I can get my guys to accommodate his requests (depending on fees).

T shirts can make you great money. Quality shirt, catchy colorful logo (front and back) and slogan, and multiple colors for the shirt.
If you've looked at the McClure's shirts they are very simple in design. 1c logo on front. 1c slogan on back.

I've personally advised Tipsy to start with one base color (he wants black) for in-store initially, given his limited space and the large range of sizes (SKU) he's going to have to carry (S/M/L/XL/XXL/XXXL). It's very easy to get bogged down in attire. If the shirts kill it, then he can look at adding colors, kids, womens, etc. He's welcome to do as he wishes of course, but I think he seems to agree.

ONLINE is a different animal. Offering 2 different base colors (I think he was talking about a deep green options as well) shouldn't be a problem as I think they will be printed to order (week by week).

The shirts likely will NOT be AA due to their exaggerated costs (people won't be paying $35 for BBQ shirts)... but yes, TF, brands like Next level and such make great shirts that are comparable for much more realistic prices. I'll give you guys more details once we actually nail down pricing for the exact "model" shirt(s) we're going to use (After running everything by Mr Tipsy for his blessing of course).

Sorry guys, not trying to take away from the restaurant thread... just trying to answer questions to keep everyone up to speed. Back to da BBQ! :banned:

Is the design posted somewhere?

I haven't been able to post too much but I'm totally stoked or you Tips. This has been awesome to watch. Would have made for an awesome documentary with all the twists and turns.

Have you noticed any repeat customers. That is when you know you got it. When you have people coming back and becoming regulars.

How many of you have told friends that "A GB of mine just opened a BBQ joint in New Orleans"?

:hey:
:hey:

Though, just my wife. And I didn't say good buddy, I said "one of the guys on my message board."

She gave me the obligatory eye roll.
Yeah, that's why I go right from "message board guy" to "good buddy"... to avoid the
Luckily for me my wife is very in to Facebook and has many "friends" there. So I don't get the eyeroll when I say they are from here.

I have to figure out a way to drive there from New Jersey. Maybe next time I'm in disney I can grab a flight from Tampa.

Good BBQ is about on par with sex. Sometimes it's better. Yes, I said that.

Unluckily for me my wife is also into facebook but is a big hypocrite.

Yeah that's a bummer

Thankfully a LOT of my freinds have met (and taken a strong liking to) Neil by way of him coming up and participating with our BBQfest team. We have an ongoing email thread with like 20 people on it posting various stuff about McClures daily... everyone's rooting for him.

Capitalize the w in with? Generally you would not in a title line.

Alternatively, you may want to not capitalize any of the salad line. Just some thoughts.

Do you need the LA next to New Orleans? I think it is more authoritative without it.

Also, capitalize B in barbecue?

Better to ask now before you start printing.

Love the shirts.
