nope. at least another week. stupid water heater.

Did the water heater murder four people, and now it's a crime scene? What could a water heater do to delay you a week?

YOu can swap a hot water heater in a couple hours max... depending on where it's located.

However this is NOLA. I'm sure there's some crazy permit/inspection you have to get from some office only open every other tuesday from noon-2p.

There cannot possibly be a permit requirement to replace a water heater unless it's filled with radioactive waste and live rats.

Notice the permit/inspection or something. I'm speculating but there has been absurd red tape all along the way and I don't expect that to have stopped by now.

Could just be a shipping/install thing but never know.

Just a guess. Could also be it wasn't big enough and didn't pass inspection. If that happened, he should get compensated by either the architect who called for a non compliant unit or contractor who purchased the wrong one.

Pretty standard. These guys aren't hanging around in case something is wrong they do have other jobs to go to. Pretty much every problem you have getting a restaurant going seems to add at least a week.

cleaning all the dust off. firing up all of the refrigerators.

smoker arrives tomorrow evening....1800 pounds and 10ft long.....probably getting the guys with the mardi gras float building warehouse down the street to bring their forklift or we are buying 8 to 10 guys lunch. oy.

so incredibly stressed/excited/nervous/happy/scared/etc.....not helping my sleep too is the central ac unit at home just died right before we left for pensacola wedding...which means he cant come over till tomorrow..i think even my goldfish are sweating

Yep....Thursday was a very good choice to open. I'll stay open as long as I have food, but normally I will switch to a late night menu after 9 pm (thurs, friday, saturday) w some of my bbq, but other items as well. probably grill oysters out on street....maybe some brats.....fry some wings....whatever my cooks and i feel like is the name of that shift.
