McClure's BBQ (2 Viewers)

hell yeah.

Talked to my buddy daren (guy who you did a pre-rehearsal dinner for the first time we came to dantes) about your place tonight. He said he wanted to go but with the buzz he was hearing he didn't want to fight a "likely line around the block". He's planning on waiting for it to die down a little and will be by.
it was around the block....post the pic i just put up
Been mostly a lurker in this thread for the past year. Congratulations on a huge opening night.

Just curious how insurance looks at being an all cash shop vs taking credit cards - sure would be less of a target when you have less cash on hand.

The Sun brewery - which has killer beer here in Denver is all cash - and on a Friday/Saturday night you can't get a seat - I've always wondered if they would be a big robbery target going that route.

i am going to take cards. i have a square reader, but it died in between the 6 months since i used it last. it was no big deal. i don't want this much cash on hand ever. anyway.

Just curious how Le Bon Temps did on beer sales - and if you are their newest best friend

With the lines in the FB post - that looks like the newest fun spot to hang out in the city!

Awesome, Tipsy!!!

Saw the pic on FB of you flipping the sign for the first time, the dude in pink couldn't wait to get it! LOL

with all cash joints, just make sure you give cops free food.

Great job! So happy that the guy I've never met and only know from a goofy online message board did so well tonight :pickle:

It still freaks me out how so may of us are so emotionally invested in this. It's really cool.

It's New Orleans. The cops are who he has to watch out for.

Cash only? Hope you don't have a lot of people like me who never have cash and thinks everyone takes cc's.
Was going to ask the same thing.

I haven't carried cash in years. I don't know many people that do carry cash anymore. Hope not a long term thing. Really turning away a large portion of customers.
Most of my town is cash only. I love paying with cash. Leave it on the table and GTFO. No waiting for them to run a card and nothing to sign. Also much easier when splitting a tab. Why not carry cash?

As much hard work as this has been over the last year, Do you wonder if you'll look up in a week completely gnawed down by the 2am to 9pm thing?

i have hired a guy that only wants to watch fire and prep 5 days a week. Another guy is going to pick up a couple more shifts doing that. And myself and one other cook are the back ups at this point. Even though its the job i really want.....I have to be here during biz hours as I am the "face". I will be working 16+ days for a while....and it is already tiring but exactly what I needed after a year of eating chips and playing xbox.

Hey tipsy BTW Asher and Bryce (on the Yelp reviews) are two of the Lagunitas guys you met at the Slab tent here in Memphis. They're showin some love

I'd consider some sort of social media promotion to help build this buzz... something like a free rib or two with a Yelp Review or Facebook check-in.

i need some time to figure my own system out. And i just cannot afford to give away much free stuff right now. A rib costs about a buck ...

Totally understand... just throwing out ideas. For that sorta stuff you have to view it as an advertising/marketing expense.

Surprised at your food cost on ribs. I know they're not cheap (I buy my fair share) but I would figure you'd be able to source slabs for 6-8 bucks given your purchase volumes.

Cash only seems like a good way to go for as long as you can. Tons of restaurants are cash only. Must save a ton on credit card fees.
