Is a black T-Shirt in New Orleans really the best idea?

On a nice sunny swampy day I don't know that I would choose a black t-shirt to wear there. Of course every time I visit New Orleans from Colorado it is a struggle with heat and humidity as soon as I step off the plane. I rarely wear or buy black here in Colorado.except in the winter.

Is a black T-Shirt in New Orleans really the best idea?

On a nice sunny swampy day I don't know that I would choose a black t-shirt to wear there. Of course every time I visit New Orleans from Colorado it is a struggle with heat and humidity as soon as I step off the plane. I rarely wear or buy black here in Colorado.except in the winter.

Tipsy chose the color... but I agree with his choice. Anything but a white or very light colored shirt is going to have a similar effect... and light colored shirts + BBQ = a no no. And yes, I'm aware these people are going to wear the shirts other places than the restaurant. Me.. I'm not a fan of white or light colored Tees... at all.

These shirts also benefit from a very lightweight material. This shirt in black will be more comfortable in NOLA summer heat than your average Hanes beefy T in white or tan.

I have a black shirt made out of the same tri-blend material this will be made of. The most comfortable shirt I own. Love wearing it in the summer. Lightweight and cool even though it's black.

So apparently she got there a bit late and had no idea that since it takes so long to cook you run out of things. Every professional review mentioned and treated it as a good thing. I was once in a very good seafood restaurant in the Keys. We went in late and they were busy. Took me 3 tries to get an entree they weren't out of. Our bad we knew we should have gone earlier. But what I got was awesome. Some folks have no understanding of how dining somewhere other than McD's works.

Just not a huge fan of the Yelp thing. Having run a restaurant or two I have seen people who had their ### kissed from the moment they walk in the door complain about the service. Was working one place that constantly won yearly Best of competitions in it's specialty and there were always a few contrarians who had to come in and complain it wasn't all that. Can't please everyone.

There is some value to the notion of "customer service" and has to be some hit to that if people are fighting their way to your place only to learn you didn't buy enough food that day. The primary pit he is cooking on is being loaded to capacity as it is now. This isn't like the bachelor trash can... Always having more room as long as you shove down hard enough.

Right and it just opened. Hope it continues to run hot forever, but you would rather continue to run out than start hitting points where you cook too much. Sounds to me like everything is going great, so he should rightly concentrate on continuing to make the best food and have the best experience for the customers. Once he is rolling in boatloads, he can start worrying about McClure's II: The Electric Boogaloo.

And this is the type of thing that makes me love my wife, she pops open the computer and gets on her Disney cult message boards and finds the few disney ifriends she has that have done the trip and gets directions that puts us there in 5 hours (I'm not exaclty 100% sold that it's 5 hours from Orlando though). She is more than willing to let this happen, extend the Disney trip a day or 3, and spend 2 days in NOLA since she's never been and just let me park my fat *** outside this place and eat until I explode.

Maps.google.com is a wee bit better source of driving directions than wives on Disney board. While she is a keeper, unless you can keep your car pegged at 129 mph, you aren't making the 645 mile trip in 5 hours. Google has it at a 9 hour drive, but even that is averaging over 70 mph. That long requires at least one stop, probably more with kids. Assuming the speed limit is pretty high (never seen any mapping software with an average mph of 70+ before), maybe you can make it in 10 hours, but I would say 11 hours with all the stops and any chance of traffic.

There is absolutely no way you can drive Orlando to N.O. in 5 hours. Closer to 10 hours unless you're pulling some "Smokey and the Bandit" ####.
