without discussing Muhammad any further, what are y'alls opinions on McGahee moving forward? 3x more carries than Mclain, 5.52 YPC plus a TD vs Miami, a team that has allowed 3.6 on the season. Also, 47 receiving yards sprinkled in for good measure. What kind of production can we expect moving forward? Is this a guy you can count on?I suppose it comes down to injuries, and how likely he is to re-injure himself the rest of the season?
I would expect pretty good production the next 3 weeks. After that it gets brutal other than a Cinci game sprinkled in there. If the rest of the Ravens offense started to look competent, I'd be a lot more positive about him. That said, 10 weeks of an NFL season is an eternity to try to make predictions, so there are sure to be some more twists and turns. Some of those teams they play could be decimated by injuries or self-destructing by the time the Ravens play them. On the flip side, if Willis isn't part of their plans after this year, the team could be giving Rice a lot more playing time to evaluate him by week 12.I did like seeing the receiving yards--that's something that helps RBs overcome tough matchups. In terms of his injuries, if he can get through another game or two without a setback, I would presume he's as healthy as any starting RB at this point and no more likely to get injured than the next guy. I think the knee thing is already off the books (or as much as it ever is with Willis)--the ribs might still be tender. To summarize, I think his schedule gets tough during the stretch run/playoffs, so I'll probably see if I can move him in the right deal. Right now I view him as maybe RB20, but trending upward.

I wish the knee thing was in the books. Been as high on Willis as anyone but my delight in his good game yesterday was crushed when I read later he had a good amount of fluid drained from his knee last week. Something like 35 cubic centimeters of fluid. The beat writer for the Baltimore Sun, Mike Preston, has been as hard on Willis as anyone I've seen including writing an article a few weeks before the season stating were he felt Willis might get cut. Even he wrote yesterday that people will criticize Willis for his fumble but he was playing the game in a good amount of pain, which bothered him on that run, and that he gave a tough and gritty performance.

Yeah, I was just coming here to make sure I didn't mislead anyone after I read about this. Something is still bothering the knee. Definitely a concern. I'm going to try even harder to move him.
