they were not stripping - just dancing.......Jerry Columbo trying to open a stripper church in the middle of this is a fantastic suplot.![]()
It's a bit like a subplot for The Sopranos.Didn’t see last nights episode but did catch up yesterday afternoon. What a crazy story- almost too weird to believe. It would have made a heck of a scripted miniseries as well give the level of characters we are dealing with.
I'm not sure we're watching the same show. I thought that episode was great.Tedious episode. Losing steam fast.
I don’t care about any of these people. I want to know how the guy got the tickets and a few other things. That was way too much background on a tremendously boring lot of people imo.I'm not sure we're watching the same show. I thought that episode was great.
But it's all part of the huge conspiracy. This story is and has always been about the huge conspiracy it was. I'm not sure how not wanting to hear about the conspiracy is too much.I don’t care about any of these people. I want to know how the guy got the tickets and a few other things. That was way too much background on a tremendously boring lot of people imo.
Agreed.I'm not sure we're watching the same show. I thought that episode was great.
Yeah, last episode started to lose me a bit.Agreed that this last one was a slog. No offense but don't really give a #### about Jerry Columbo's kid in the context of this story.
This would have been a tight two hours... this is really spread paper thin in the name of content. Too much time for too little storyTedious episode. Losing steam fast.
It feels like no way we are only at the halfway point and I am worried about what they have for 2nd half. As of right now, I am really unsure where this could go that warrants 4 more episodes. There better be a big twist coming up.This would have been a tight two hours... this is really spread paper thin in the name of content. Too much time for too little story
There's only 2 leftIt feels like no way we are only at the halfway point and I am worried about what they have for 2nd half. As of right now, I am really unsure where this could go that warrants 4 more episodes. There better be a big twist coming up.
Oh for some reason, I thought it was 8 episodes. This is re-assuring news. There's only 2 left![]()
i could be wrong but I'm pretty sure its 6 episodesOh for some reason, I thought it was 8 episodes. This is re-assuring news.
You are right, I don’t know why I thought it was 8.i could be wrong but I'm pretty sure its 6 episodes
I hear DeNiro plays Columbo in the final episode. Poor choice, in my opinion.I also thought going into it that it was going to be like I, Tonya where it was a tongue in cheek recreation made to look like a documentary about the real life events.
I don't think you get it. McMillions is a total ripoff of this thing that actually happened 20 years ago. They are using all the same people in McMillions who were actually involved in 2000 as a wink and nod for those who know about it.I hear DeNiro plays Columbo in the final episode. Like an homage? Hmm. I like that idea. Wonder why more films don't work that stuff in?I don't think you get it. McMillions is a total ripoff of this thing that actually happened 20 years ago. Basically. Made it halfway through this week's episode and pulled the plug. They dragged this out way too muchI don’t care about any of these people. I want to know how the guy got the tickets and a few other things. That was way too much background on a tremendously boring lot of people imo.
Only good thing was the funny drug dealerPainful 4th episode, what a slog. There's two interesting "plot points" in the hour. Should have just made a TV movie with John Goodman as Uncle Jerry and Walton Goggins as the FBI Guy
Is like someone thought that the white trash ex-mob wife was REALLY interesting and figured we'd enjoy hearing her ramble for 2 hours. They were wrong
Extremely the worst part of the show.Is like someone thought that the white trash ex-mob wife was REALLY interesting and figured we'd enjoy hearing her ramble for 2 hours. They were wrong
). Again, I could be wrong here, and I don't want to look it up (or know until the reveal, at this point) but I swear the FBI announced charges just days before 9/11. I think they had concluded the investigation and began rounding people up either end of August or first week of September. My guess is that we start to learn of all the details tonight and the episode will end with 9/11 recordings. Then the final episode will be about how much time everyone got and the final outcome. That's my guess.otb_lifer said:finally caught e4 last night ...

very meandering, considering there are only 2 episides left. i keep waiting for the big moment where they allow that 9/11 derailed the investigation somewhat (seeing as how the flashpoint here is August of '01), but i guess that is not gonna factor at all.
i mean, they constantly remind you that 2001 was the year, as they impose it on the screen in huge font a couple/few times per episode ... thought there was an end, via 9/11, to justify those means.
there may still be, but with roughly 110 minutes left, that's an awful lotta meat to chomp thru, especially with us still being clueless as to Unc J's procuring method.
faaaaading here.
I thought Affleck and Damon bought the movie rights to this. Could be wrong. I know this documentary series is done by Mark Wahlberg.I’m hooked on this show. Agreed, ep 4 was a bit off from the others, but I don’t think a 2 hour show does this justice. It was a 10+ year conspiracy that nobody really knows about, yet I’d venture a guess and say just about everyone in this thread peeled one of these game pieces in their lifetime looking for Boardwalk or Park Place. (Forgive my stereotype of the average FBG, but anyone in the 30-60yo age range that lives in the US probably had a good chance of playing the game or being deluged by the advertising for it during those years)
I want to know the individuals involved, sometimes real life is way more interesting than Hollywood. In fact, if this was done as a Hollywood fictional movie, it would probably bomb at the box office. The real people make this story interesting.
I disagree. Part of the point is to show just how much work goes into this kind of operation. Also, it has become obvious that they are also showing the human cost here. A whole bunch of completely innocent people lost their jobs through no fault of their own. And one guy got jobbed by his step-father.Pulled the plug after Ep 4, not sure I'll go back.
Like others have said, this should have been 2 episodes. Maybe 3. No need to watch Columbo's kid playing with his new baby.
bad move. Ep 5 was the best yetPulled the plug after Ep 4, not sure I'll go back.

Exactly. This wasn't just about one or two guys. This was oddly like Enron, in a sense. Not as big, but companies going bankrupt because of one person's choices.I disagree.
