McNabb to the Niners (1 Viewer)

The best QB in history wasn't even good enough to start over Aaron Rodgers. I don't think it's quite the same situation.

looks like the idiotic Eagles fans are at it again.

If you want to get rid of someone, get rid of reid.

His offensive game plan was absolutley horrible today. and it most "big" games look at how the offense was called and you will clearly see reid is at fault way more than mcnabb

As long as westbrook is the main running back, we will always have this 75/25 ratio, Reid is stubborn are ####.

No way McNabb is worth a first round pick. I'd much rather see the Niners pick up Sam Bradford in the second round.

Now if the Eagles were willing to part ways with McNabb for a third I think the Niners could pull that trade.

I'm not saying McNabb isn't a good player, but the Niners have so many holes to fill in their lineup that it doesn't make sense trading away either of their first round picks.

You guys clearly aren't Eagle fans and don't watch the games. In the biggest of games he comes up so lame. He's not in the 4,000 yard club and is a leader that caves and pukes.
Pretty much sums it up.

Well this nonsense popped up faster than I thought it would.

Should be noted, the views and opinions of the OP are not representative of every Eagles fan. Entire team #### the bed today so far.
I hear ya. Definitely not all Philly fans are complete dooshes. But, it does seem that an inordinate number of fans in that city throw out ridiculous speculations/hypotheses/pleas like this one, showing a complete lack of common sense. Or even loyalty to their guys. McNabb's been a warrior. And, he gets this sort of treatment. It's so lame.
whatev

1) At present he is a borderline HOF QB... he is not Peyton Manning, Brett Favre, Tom Brady, or Big ben.. He is a very good QB who has failed consistently in big games.. and then when he does throws everyone under the bus and never takes blame for his failures

2) How do you know who they are trading him to? Word is McNabb declined last off-season to sign a long term deal (so they only redid his last two years)... If the Eagles lose next week in the Wild Card, I think he is gone assuming they can make a trade that satisfies the Eagles Front Office.

3) I dont disagree he is one of the winningest QB of his era.. except he has won only one NFC Championship Game and Zero superbowls.. not acceptable

4) The Eales really like Kolb.. and he played pretty well this year in his starts

5) Wanting to trade a position of strength to improve other areas is actually logical. It depends on what Kolb becomes.. The defense has been bad all year.. There are a lot of holes that need to be filled.. So trading for draft picks makes sense. Either McNabb or Kolb will probably be traded...

6) Eagles fans have loyalty to the guys they like. The city was heart-broken when Dawkins left... Donovan has never been beloved again due to his lack of clutch performance and quirky personality

Most importantly, tell me why this isnt a good trade for both teams.... Niners need a QB, Eagles may want to move on....

Saying that we don't deserve him is silly.. Again unless you watch him every week throw bounce passes, smile after incompletions where he misses his WRs, can't run a 2 minute offense etc.. he may appear to be a top QB. But when you see his game, his flaws are quite obvious... YEs we are losing today due to multiple reasons. And we lost to Arizona for multiple reasons last year. But.. McNabb doesnt take over a game like the legends do... He also is not as quick and elusive as he once was... he has gained too much weight and is older and is either unable to afraid to scramble. He can't even convert 4th and inches reliably.

This is not the best QB of the era.. far from it.. In 15 years, we will look at Favre, Manning, Brady, big Ben, Warner, and possibly Rivers as better QBs. He is the best Eagles QB ever.. but for a city that has never won a Super Bowl.. and has very few championships in all sports.. being close every year isnt enough.
As a close friend of Kolb, please let it be him.....

Kolb is the one getting traded. Already several teams are in discussions and kicking tires for the off season.
St. Louis Rams  (hello Kolb to Avery part 2)

I'm bumping this up... I think it can happen...and I have evidence to prove it :)

1) Adam Caplan, who is pretty knowledgeable on the NFl and Eagles, estimates that McNabb would net a 1st and 3rd rounder in a trade ( "1 and 3 when u consider how many teams still need a QB. RT @timbrazell: @caplannfl what kind of draft picks could the Eagles get for McNabb?

about 13 hours ago from TweetDeck") http://twitter.com/Caplannfl

2) Mike Singeltary didn't give Alex Smith a clear endorsement... ""Alex Smith is the quarterback going forward. But the thing I want you to understand is we're always trying to get better at that position and constantly evaluating. That does not mean we won't sign another quarterback. It's a very important position and we're always looking at it."

Now you can interpret Singletary's comment as he may sign a veteran FA to push Smith.. but if he was sold on Smith, he wouldnt leave a door open...

I think McNabb is going to get traded, despite Reid's endorsement of him yesterday... And the reason will be, if Caplan is right and McNabb nets a 1st and 3rd round pick, that can be used on the defense.. which is desparately needed

Other trade options I have come up with.. McNabb to Carolina for Peppers and a pick..assuming Peppers is franchised (maybe a 4th rounder or something), McNabb to the vikings (if Favre retired) for their 1st and something else,

Well see what happens.. but I think McNabb will be dealt to a team that is "close" for picks because the Eagles have A LOT of holes that will be otherwise hard to fill...

Philly fans are so ####in spoiled with this guy  Never seen any fanbase wanna trade a franchise QB every yearPS: OK maybe dumb Yankee fans that wanted ARod run out of town
Philly fans also booed Mike Schmidt towards the end of his career. Worst fanbase BY FAR in the country. Just terrible. I'm often ashamed of being a Philly fan.
I understand booing Santa Claus. I understand cheering when Michael Irvin lay motionless on the carpet. I understand drunken ingrates throwing batteries all over the place. It's all so stupid, but I get it.But, booing Mike Schmidt is the dumbest thing any fanbase has ever done.
Derek Jeter was booed, loudly, in Yankee stadium. That's pretty dumb too. Doesn't matter who you are, if you're in a 1 for 48 slump with 25 k's, you're gonna get booed by your fans. Please let it go.

should the eagles trade mcnabb? i don't know. i can see the positive and negatives in it. why WOULD you trade him? because he is 34, because he isn't as good as he once was. no one said they would trade him for a fifth-round pick. but if you can get a first and a second, i think you consider it. why would another trade FOR him? because if you are close, or at least think you are close, he gives you a better chance than, say, alex smith. alex smith stinks. alex smith will never win a playoff game. ever. book it. now, i'm not saying the 49ers should trade for him, but they need to realize they aren't going anywhere with alex smith.why would the eagles not trade him? because they can't get enough for him. i've posted in other threads, i think reid's 3-year extension results in 1 of 2 things at the end of this season: an end to the mcnabb era in philly, or a commitment to mcnabb for 3 more years. there is no middle ground there.
Booked.

A couple of things, McNabb isn't worth a #1 draft pick at this point in his career. Also, it would be very hard to deal McNabb with his contract (unless the uncapped year thing benefits all parties, not sure on that). Sure looks like Vick is going to be playing elsewhere since he has some kick-in bonus that the Eagles supposedly won't dish out. Vick goes to a team like Buffalo or Carolina or Oakland but I can't see him staying. So.... that would mean that McNabb stays at least one more year.
