McNabb's a Redskin! (1 Viewer)

Can't believe they traded him within the division but for football fans this is great. Eagles vs Redskins might be the two most watched games in the NFL next year.

Within the division?!? WTF?!?
My thought as well.
I could care less.
How much less?Oh and I bet the league is scrambling to get the WAS @ PHI game on prime time after this.
The whole not trading with a division rival or trading within the division never bothered me. You take the best deal you can no matter the team. Jason Campbell will be trying to beat us just as McNabb only McNabb would get more satisfaction. Now if they're doing this deal because they feel they owe him then that would piss me off

mcnabb owner's could have done worse than going to a shanahan-led offense...while WAS still appears to be ranked fourth in the ultra-competitive NFC East, this could tighten things up... cool of reid to trade mcnabb to a good destination...i assume they will try & sign him to a long-term contract, and aren't renting him for a year?signs continue to increasingly point in the direction of bradford to the rams.
Pencil in Okung at #4 to beef up the Redskins line?
Things will get real interesting if the Lions take Okung at 2.
Redskins can deal backwards for someone that wants Suh or McCoy then.

It's been reported that Oakland and Buffalo had deals on the table but Reid wanted to send McNabb somewhere he wanted to go because he felt he owed it to him.
That's pretty cool stupid of the Eagles/Reid.
Fixed. The Eagles paid McNabb millions of dollars every year per the terms of his contract. They owed him nothing. If Reid took less from Washington than he could've gotten elsewhere, he really screwed the Eagles and their fans - especially since they'll be playing Washington twice a year.

Maybe, but McCoy sure wouldn't be a bad consolation prize - if they can't/won't trade down for one of the other top OTs

See north/west Europe for the answer.
I rely on you for this type thing, I'm pretty lazy and uninformed on some things. Cliff notes version?
good article on DenmarkShort answer is that many of them are museums or privately owned. The churches that are open in the Netherlands, Denmark and Germany among other places, are empty.

ETA: One more
Europe is pretty much screwed if they keep going in their current direction. They are losing their religion, they don't have kids, and have to import foreigners to have enough young working-age people. Won't be too long before its a completely different civilization.
Leave it to Snyder to make the announcement on MLB's opening night. Can't help but want to be the center of attention.
 Seriously?

Not sure what people are thinking when they say it is nice of Reid to trade him to a good squad... I can't believe that is actually any bit true. No way you can justify that from a business perspective especially when you play the Redskins 2x a year. I would really be shocked if Reid says he preferred to get Mcnabb a better home than Oakland or Buffalo.

They had to be so eager to trade him that it meant trading within the division...

It could've been worse for McNabb. Hope he has success there.

Philly fan McNabb haters won't know what they've lost til it's gone.

This thread went weird.
:KliffKlavin:

Well you see Normy, McNabb played college ball for the Syracuse Orange(men). The Dutch national soccer team wears orange. And uh, there's your connection.

Im seriously doubting he took less...

Agreed.I can't imagine anyone offered more than the 37th pick plus.

One thing is for certain...Shannahan is too smart to draft the overrated Clausen.Kiper is out to lunch on this kid.
He's no Matt Leinart that's for sure.
True, Heisman and National Championship to show for it.Clausen is mediocrity personified.
If only Leinart were mediocre.
Yeah but Leinart was successful in college, which is amazing considering that supporting cast he had. So he has that going for him, which is nice...

Not to mention he's getting the keys to the cadillac this season...of course, all of the Einsteins in the "shark pool" are overlooking that small fact...after saying it wouldn't happen 6 months ago.

How come I'm picturing what would happen if Mr. Magoo was to drive a Cadillac?

LHUCKS making another thread about himself :lmao:

Its like you're in some contest with Dan Snyder to see who the bigger attention whore is.

He was given the keys to the Caddy at least once before and couldn't handle driving a big boys car.

WOW

Any word if McNabb has agreed to a an extension (I assume the Redskins have some indication that he would)?

Do the Redskins call the Raiders and ask if the are interested in Campbell?

Down goes Clausen !!!
Kiper has been overhyping his punkass since day one...guy had mediocrity written all over him.
The fact that you don't like him is a ringing endorsement in my book. After all, you are the guy that predicted Sidney Rice would be a bust.
I make a prediction on just about every player...ace. If I batted 100% I'd be working in somebody's front office.
I thought you were 100%. The other QBs you dislike are Cutler and Rivers. Correct?

I think you're actually pretty close to 100%. Just not on the side of the spectrum you're shooting for.

If they truly got a 2 and next year's 3, then they got more than I thought they eventually would. That being said, I can't BELIEVE they would trade him to an NFC team they might face, llet alone a team they have to face twice every year. Horrible, Horrible trade. But, in a way it is poetic justice, because all the effing fans (and sports radio hosts) that say McNabb sucks and he needs to go, just got their wish. What's the saying? Be careful what you wish for. I fear it might be our time to find out how much McNabb owns the NFC East.

Unbelievable.

According to Shefter:

Filed to ESPN: Mcnabb to Redskins for 2nd-rd pick this year and either a 3 or 4 next year depending on certain conditions.
This is what happens when real football men are running your franchise. Bruce Allen scored. The Redskins are instantly threatening the Cowboys for the division title. The Eagles are instantly winning 3-4 less games.And....Devin Thomas bursts onto Sleeper Radar.

Within the division?!? WTF?!?Both the wife and I just saw it on the crawler on the Deuce and both yelled at the same time "WTF? Inside the division!" :lmao:
while reid might have been being nice to mcnabb, an equally and maybe more plausible explanation is that mcnabb had some control by letting it be known where he would be willing to sign a contract with?if a mcnabb-led WAS ends up beating PHI, it will not only remind me of favre, but warner elevating the cards in same division as the rams (they cut him of course, and he went to NYG first)...

I still think this is a belated April Fool's joke, but...Wow...
Yeah, I can see why a giants fan wouldn't like this trade.
As a Giants fan, I'm much more concerned with the Eagles getting another pick high in the 2nd than having to continue to face McNabb twice a year.
Agree totally -- one I heard officially the 37th pick was part of the package, not a great thing...
