What is the deal with this guy, I knew he was injured in pre-season, but have not heard much information about him since. Is he even going to play this year, he is not on the pup list. Anybody with more information would be helpful. I am thinking he could be a nice pickup in dynasty leagues.

he was dropped in one of mine week 4. guy drafted him 5th overall no IDP and then drops him. I picked him up and traded him and scaife for mason.

Eh, he might turn into the NO number two Wr in a couple of years, I think there are better guys to waste a roster spot in for the next couple of years though.

he was slowed by injuries in the off season. he didn't get any prep as a result. during the preseason, he played sporadically but didn't impress. payton describes him as "red shirting" his rookie year. payton says he's a hard worker but he's not going to crack the starting line-up, especially as they are in the thick of a playoff push. they are getting good production from patten, moore and the occassional circus grab from henderson.

he is valuable in dynasty leagues still. i think he'll get the attention of payton in the offseason and thrive. i don't think the saints will re-sign henderson (he's got stone hands). copper is simply a warm body. patten signed a 1 year. meachem has a real opportunity next year, consequently.

Meachem is on the 53 man roster, but has not been active for a game so far. Colston is Colston, Henderson seems to have gotten over the dropsies the past few weeks, Patten is playing well, and Moore and Copper are key special teams guys (along with each getting some WR4 time). At this point, it would likely would take an injury for Meachem to crack the game day 45 this year.

Great analysis. I'm trying to scoop him up in dynasty leagues as his value dictates the acquisition. He's been talked about as a very hard worker and has the physical tools to succeed, but this year is definitely a wasted season. I think he works his way into the #2 role in New Orleans next season.

i think it might be a stretch for him to become WR2 for the Saints. Patten signed a 1-year and is proving effective in the offense. The front office will make a play to keep him, I think. Meachem will get a shot at WR3, maybe, which could give him a chance to compete with the veteran Patten down the stretch next year.

Meachem will eventually be the #2 or 3 WR on the team, but not this year. My guess is next year he'll be backing up Colston, and somewhere around year 3 he'll be habitually playing in the slot or on the opposite side from Marques.

I don't think there is any question he will be able to compete to be the #2 WR in New Orleans. It's not like anyone has a stranglehold on the job right now. Whether he earns it or not is one thing, but he will have a chance to compete for it.
