Devil's Advocate
May your NFL team win the Super Bowl, and may your fantasy players stay healthy and lead you to a title!

8:30 can't get here fast enough! ;) :football: :football:

Would it be okay for me to start :banned: right now?

Congrats to all the Colts fans, who get to watch the banner unfurl for the first time in 35 years. :hifive:

:drive:

I wonder if Joe or David could see their way clear to posting David Baker's article "The Most Wonderful Time Of the Year," which is subscriber content. It's more about the feeling we get on draft day than the opening of the regular season, but the theme seems appropriate today also. Great article it is. :coffee:

Fixed. For the overwhelming majority, current colts fans were not following the team 35 years ago. Anyone who was a real colts fan 35 years ago no longer claims this team. There are a few traitors like our own JohnnyU who hitched a ride on the Mayflower vans, but not many.

and by all means, start :suds:

So most people who were Baltimore Colts fans in the early 70s are now Baltimore Ravens fans?Is that fair to say?

to the Raider fans, Charger fans, Colt fans, Jet fans... all of you... even the Buc fan... I salute you all... and as a NE Patriot's fan, I refuse to hate you until at least 8:30pm EST tonight.

My rankings:

1. My birthday (New Years Day)

2. NFL Week 1

3. Christmas

4. SuperBowl Sunday

I love week 1 more than Christmas.

I would think most of us who are reading this would agree with you fully.
I was positive that I wasn't the only one. Where does this rank in Sopranos episodes? ;)
The Sopranos are dead to me after that last catastrophic episode.
Sorry for bringing up a sore subject. I didn't realize that the break-up was that miserable.

Are you saying people in Hoosierville were dutifully following the Baltimore Colts 35 years ago? because that was my point. The current fans don't get to watch a banner unfurl for their team "for the first time in 35 years", because they were not fans of the team 35 years ago. History lesson? I realize the current Colts franchise came from the remnants of the abandoned Dallas Texans. This is not news. And I'm not sure what you're implying by the "Real fans...lol" dig, but if you're referring to the way attendance dropped when Irsay started running the team into the ground, let's just say that the fact that hardworking people refused to line the pockets of a moneygrubbing scumbag dead set on relocating the team doesn't mean they weren't still fans of the team. The Colts abandoned their fans, not the other way around.

Anyway, this is about the return of glorious football :football: (and the fact that RAIDERNATION is doing it up right by getting things started :banned: early!)

I have to work for at least 3.5 of them.

Do I really have to work today?

Focus...focus...

Everyone's is.Then in a about ten weeks when many folks are 2-8, the Pool tends to thin out right quick.
