Does anyone use this app?

I was reading on fb from friends posting about how Mewe is better than Facebook. Mostly less ads and political stuff.

But of all my contacts, only one person seems to be on it. And that's someone I haven't talked to in years.

and then the only mention of mewe from the search bar here is a drunk post from 2007. Pretty sure that's just someone mistyping.

Is anyone using?

Is it better than FB?

How many apps come out trying to supplant Facebook?  How many of them are actually popular?

The mighty Google tried and failed.

I hate all the political BS on FB but have gotten great at scrolling right past them or muting folks if all they do is post political crap.

No one is overtaking this giant.

The thing FB has that all these other sites don’t is all the users. Same with Twitter. The idea itself is pretty simple but what separates Twitter or Facebook or IG from everyone else is that it’s already where everyone is at.

Right. At it's best, fb is a great place to keep up with friends and family.  I don't like the monopoly aspect but that's a self perpetuating issue. If everyone stays, nobody leaves.

I use LinkedIn but it's not the same.

Reddit and FBG is good for anonymity at times. Talking about stuff you don't necessarily want your friends knowing you're talking about but you still feel the need to discuss.

They all serve their purpose but without the community, they are all worthless. That community that organically was built up over years is so hard to replicate.
